Help with new double din installation

Ok so my big question is where do the wires for the amp (2rca) go on an eclipseAVN 30 d ? Everything else I have wired up the wires to the regular door speakers and all what I'm having problems is where do the wires go on the unit itself . What im trying to do is keep the stock look whith a new amp and subwoffer , i just dont see where the wires go to the back of the headunit. If anybody is somewhat familiar about this kind of units . Info is greatly appreciative .

From the minimal information I was able to gather, it appears as if that head unit does NOT have preamp outs for the RCAs. You will have to use an amp with high-level inputs or buy a line output converter. The stock Kenwood amp does have high-level inputs, but you will have to run new wires to use them.

Sounds way to complicated , I might just have a stereo shop install it . I wish I was stereo mechanically inclined . :(

I bought a new amp and HU with preouts. I didn't want to run all new speaker wire so I bought a loom? that had wires for all 4 channels +remote in one bundle, ran that from the amp back up front and wired into the stock speaker wires.

It's called Speedwire and it is awesome! Car stereo isn't really hard, just as long as you aren't color blind when running wires. If you want to tackle it yourself the12volt.com is a great car audio resource.

Excuse my not so intelligent wiring technique, but will speed wields help or would it just be like rewiri g the amp back to the headunit?

Honestly I can't find much information for the AVD30D other than it might be a factory option on Toyota Tundras. I'm not certain that that HU has an RCA out for the subwoofers. You can tap into the rear speaker lines, the stock kenwood amp has speaker level inputs. Be sure to use a filter so you only feed the lower frequencies to the amp. You can get that at Radio Shack.

You run speedwire from the amp in the trunk to the wire connections behind the radio. It is just easier to run one bundle of wires instead of 8 separate ones or rewiring every speaker.

I don't think he is amping the door speakers. He's just using the factory amp for the subs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your very correct , well pretty close, I am only trying to reconnect the the sub to a new unit . By the way i will be installin new sub, and new amp. Stock set up .

In that case, you will need to do one of two things.

1. The stock amp does have speaker level inputs on it. You will have to run some jumper wires from two of your speakers to the speaker-level inputs.
2. Purchase a line output converter. You will still have to run jumper wires from two of the speakers, but this time the line output converter has RCA outs that can go into any amp.

Either way you go, I always splice into the rear speakers for the audio signal. I would recommend purchasing the line output converter because that way you don't have to find an amp with speaker-level inputs (most don't have them).
