Honda Civic
Hi everyone ,
New here, although i have been lurking for a few months. I have driven the 2006 GS and a 2007 GT. I currently own a 03 civic, which is my 7th straight Honda. After shopping around, I came across the Mazda5. I also looked at the CRV, Rav4 and X-Trail. Dollar for dollar, I think the Mazda5 has the most value. So I have decided on a Mazda5 GT 5-speed with Leather. I have been back and forth with 5 diferent dealers in the area. Best deal I have gotten so far is my Lease payed out, plus an additional $1000 dollars. This is Canadian funds, So a 48 month lease is $433. Take off $1000 and I am Looking at around $410/month. I am comfortable with that. Now its a matter of them finding me one. I received a call yesterday from one of the dealers, he said the owners wife has one, its metallic Silver, She has had it for 3 months. The dealership owner would like to move it. it has about $3000 km, maybe a little more, he was not exactly sure. My question is, how much do you think I can get off the price. I know when you buy a car, it depreciates as soon as you take it off the lot. I am not sure if she owned the vehicle, or whether its still owned by the dealership. Just looking for a little help from someone who may have had a similar situation. maybe I can save a few bucks. One more thing. How does the silver metallic look. I have seen pictures in their brochure, but they always look different in person. Appreciate any input.

That car is used, plain and simple. I would suggest looking up the used car value through a source that the dealer uses, like NADA, and negotiate your price down from there. It's a good starting point. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $4000-$5000 less than the original sticker price. But of course, this also depends on your local market. I just noticed you were in Canada and I don't know how readily available they are.

A demo car (NOT USED FYI) you should not pay for any freight charges nor Pre Delivery Equipment (PDE). Secondly you should be compensated on a lease for the miles on that car.

You need to know one thing.... when did the car go on the road. That date is when the warrenty started so the dealer should up your warrenty to 4 yrs 100000 km on a lease for free IMO.

Hope his helps and btw does NS really have 5 dealers lol

Demos aren't "used" per se, but they should be much cheaper than new and the 3000+ on the odometer should be calculated into the lease so the clicks don't count.

I have a silver Mz5 and I think it looks fabulous!

Whatever....call it what you want. It's USED. It's not new, somebody has made a daily driver out of it, they've treated it like someone else's car, it's USED.
