2002 Nissan Maxima GLE
Hi i am new here. Im strongly considering a speed3 for my next purchase. For the last 3 years i have been spoiled by my 2002 Maxima GLE with heated leather seats and heated steering wheel. Im gonna have a hard time giving up the heated wheel, but ive gotta have at least heated seats in my next ride.

Mazdausa.com doesnt list heated seats as a feature or option on the 2008 speed3, but it does look like it comes on the plain 3s grand touring.

In earlier magazine reviews i have read that the Speed 3 grand touring did infact have heated seats. Maybe a dealer can do a swap out with 3S seats

So whats the deal? which Speed3 cars have em? 2007, 2008, or 2008.5?

I dont want to sound whiny but on -1degree days in January ive got to have them.

Thanks for your help

im gonna go out on a limb here and say that none of the speeds have heated seats. the reason why i say this is because i don't believe they have a leather seat option in either the s or the gt. the s has the black cloth and the gt (2008.5) has alcantara with leather bolsters.

i can understand you wanting to stick with heated stuff, but in all honesty these newer engines heat up very quickly anyway, so you can crank the heat up withing 5 minutes of starting the car. and since the speeds don't have leather seating, the sharp chills you get on those winter mornings won't really be as bad, and neither will the burning sensations from shorts in the summer.

Yep, far as I've read heated seats aren't an option on the factory installed seats.

But I second that this engine heats up very quickly. Also alacantra seems better for extreme temps than leather. At least it works nicely here in the desert (getting into a hot car with leather here = very unpleasant. I'm guessing it will be less cold to sit in in winter too).

But if it's such an important feature, maybe the MS3 isn't what you really need, dunno, just saying.

Good luck.

You can go with aftermarket seat heaters if you want, but as said before, the car heats up really fast. I pull out of my garage and by the time I'm out of my development, which is probably about .5 miles, the temp gauge is halfway to the normal range.

my delicate sensibilities require 2nd gear roll-on tire roasting first, then comfort stuff next.

I have a MS3 GT and no heated seats here. And by the way the seats are a leather trim. Every place that your body contacts is cloth. So actually in the winter ( i live in michigan, I know cold) it realy is not bad. Also with the heated steering wheel...well...not sure what to say to that lol.

the problem in the MS3 is not heated seats or steering wheel, its just the cold inside the car. The cloth doesnt chill you to the bone like leather does (I hate leather in cars). You would be much better off just getting some type of remote start (Can they do that with manual cars?) so your heat can turn on and warm up the car.

I really see no point in heated cloth seats personally

HAHA, wow. I just got my MS3 a few days ago. Yesterday me and a friend were searching for the heated seat button.... could of sworn I read somewhere they had them. We came to the conclusion that they turned on automatically with the heat. (stooges)

No heated seats, no auto-locking, no auto-up windows. Oh, well. It hauls!!!!!!
