There's a site with more information that you can ever use called Autopia. I've been reading and reading and reading and have spent WAY too much money because of it!
Here's my 2 cents:
First, for sweet deals on Porter Cable combo packages, go to w w w d o t a u t o g e e k d o t n e t (not sure if they're still link Nazi's). They have lots of different packages to choose from. Edge and Lake County pads are popular choises.
No real experience with liquid wax, always use paste, so I can't help out there. Will say that the PC makes applying paste wax super fast and simple, so don't steer away from the paste just because of the PC.
I've had really good success with the Poorboy's line of swirl removers (the SSR line). Never had to go all the way to SSR3, and rarely use SSR2.5. My go-to combo is SSR2 with an orange pad (light/medium cut) on the PC, speed 6. The SSR2 doesn't dust much, and doesn't leave a haze, so you don't need to use a lighter grade to smooth that out. I've also used the Sonus Swirl Remover with the special pad with the ingrooved rings, but I personally like the SSR much better.
After getting rid of the majority of swirls, I've been using something called Pink Moose - it's actually 2 ClearKote products - Vanilla Moose and Red Moose Glaze - mixed in a 50/50 ratio. The Vanilla has a very light, and the Red Moose has no cutting ability, it makes your paint nice and deep (better on dark colors, however). It takes care of any remaining little marring and preps the paint in one step.
For a sealant I've been using Poorboy's EX-P. No complaints with it at all! The EX-P is synthetic ... if you want a sealant with Carnauba in it, they have one called EX.
There's a guy in the next city over (Bob, great guy!) who has an online store (danase dot com) and if I order in the morning, he'll deliver it that evening. I've been lookin' out for a brother using his products to show support. I just got some of his Danase Speed Glaze to try out. Smells good, and I've heard good things about it. It's an added step after polish, and before wax/sealant just to add depth and shine. I'm pretty sure he deals with Chemical Guys for his branded products, but it's not the exact same stuff. His quick detailer is killer (shameless plugs for Bob).
I also just got some Klasse AIO (also from Danase) the other day, and am planning on trying that out on my family's cars (the ones who don't care as much as I do about how they look). If this works as well as people say, I might be using it more and the SSR less. The one thing I love about all the Poorboys products, tho, is that you can use it in direct sunlight, and that's perfect because I don't have a garage!
Think about using quick detailer, too. Works great when your car is clean, but just needs a little boost to make it glow!
Oh yeah, when you read about Optimum No Rinse wash, believe every good thing you hear about it. Simply put, it's that good.
I know I rambled, sorry about that. There's so much data to process about detailing cars that it makes my head spin! Here's the plan for when the weather here gets good enough for me to do a proper detail on my MS3:
wash
clay
wash again
SSR2 via PC
Pink Moose
Danase Speed Glaze
Couple layers of Carnauba wax (I have Pinnacle Souveran, Chiemical Guys 50/50, and Soft99 Premium all to try out this summer!)
Possibly a layer of Poorboys EX-P
Danase Speed Shine as a QD
Can't wait for spring!

Just getting ready for spring/summer time. I'm about to get a porter cable 7424 polisher.
Need some help deciding what to get while I'm at it as far as product and accessories.
Wax
currently using P21S, but now want a liquid wax. Maybe Pinnicle liquid soveriegn?
Sealent
Klasse High gloss sealent?
Polish
Currently have P21S paintworks cleaner, maybe I should try Klasse AIO?
Swirl remover
No clue what to look for here
Also I'm not sure what polisher pad kit to get to use with each of these products.
Thanks
