First time poster, could use some help with getting the axle out of the drivers side rear. I am replacing the bearings and if that isn't bad enough, the bearings were so bad the ball bearings themselves were split in half. This guy drove this thing into the ground! The axle is ruined also and the drivers side just won't come loose from the rear end. Please, any suggestions would be great. Just a side note, the prices on parts for this thing are out of this world!!!!
Thanks for any help with this.

You'll need a torch to heat up the axle at the point where it makes contact in the rear end. Use big vise grips to clamp on the axle. after the axle is heated up, take a BFH (big friggin hammer) and beat against the vice grips in the direction away from the rear end pulling the axle out. I've done this several times with 4X4 rear ends.

Just an FYI, If the axle heated up enough to seize, the vehicle was probably run with little or no fluid. There may be more damage, like seals and gears.
