Help!!! Surface Rust

After washing my car today and in the process of drying it off, I noticed some surface rust on the panels right behind the rear wheels (both sides). I didn't notice any other places but I'll check again tomorrow.

I read through the warranty and it only applies to rust that has gone through the metal (hope I read it right). So if it's not covered by the warranty (might try to see if my dealer will cover it), how can I get the rust spots out without damaging the paint?

Also, any tips from preventing this from happening would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're right. The warranty only covers rust HOLES. Cleaner wax would take the rust marks off the remaing paint, but won't do much for preventing anymore rust.

Screw that, your car is not even 2 years old. Take it back, and show them the rust. They gotta fix that s***, that is just sad bro.

you gotta alot of salty roads there in the winter?

They try not to use too much salt during the winters here...but my car has only seen 1 winter...I've only had it for 10 months. I've washed my car at least once a month since spring and just noticed the spots yesturday.

I think I'm gonna talk to my dealer on Tuesday to see what they'll do about it.

Does anyone else have this problem with their paint?
