Help!! sub not working (mp3 kenwood)

Help, just purchased 01 mp3 with stock kenwood radio and sub woofer. The sub doesn't work. It does have power but seems no input (music) coming from leads. Could it be a setting in the radio? Is there any other ways to hook it up? (connecting to rear speakers)

Is there an Amp in the stock system? Any help would be great.

from what i've read and heard, the stock kenwood was garbage, so start there
