Help!! Protege won't go forward till warm.

I just bought my first car a 99 Mazda protege lx for $800. When test drive it it drove fine little wobbly cause it needed a new transmission mount. But when I went to crank it the next morning it won't accelerate till warm or if you give it gas and let the Rpms sit around 4000. Reverse works fine, after it warms up and starts going the o/d light starts flashing and does so till you turn off the car and crank it after that everything is good. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it's dangerously low on atf

All the fluid levels are good. That was the first thing I checked.

Could be a clogged ATF filter as well; symptoms sound fairly similar to what my old Geo Metro would do.

Firstly wrong forum section. Secondly how nice of you to include that its an automatic in your first post.

Tried draining and replacing fluid? How many ks does it have? What servicing has been done? What have you already checked/tried?
