Help please!!!! Air bag light blinking/constantly on

I purchased a used mazda 2008 cx-7 almost a yr ago. I was just driving home from work and the air bag sign came on my dash, blinked at first but then stayed there. I also purchased the extended warrenty but to only find out that the something screen which is right behind the steering column is the only thing covered. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do besides taking it to a dealership and paying over $100 for them to look at the light and say something is wrong. Help me please

Look in your owners manual to see if it might fall under alonger term warranty since it is a major safety item.

yeah, that sounds like your airbag may not be working properly..i'd suggest getting them to look at it. if you are low mileage (under 48,000) you should still be under the original factory warranty..
