help on idiotic cop plz...

(rant) driving home from work today and i saw a beetle tailgaiting me , so i went on the right lane of the freeway to let him pass. the beetle then cut me off on the right lane...almost hit me so...i was like wtf...then i went to the left lane and he sped up again and cut me off and he speed up... so i got pissed and followed him and cut him off....

all of a sudden, he started honking and showing his badge ... my guess is he's a pissed off cop off duty ... i dunno/... i ignored him and he tailgated me for the next 5 miles.... then my exit came and he didnt follow since...(eek2)

question is, this prick almost hit me twice for cutting me off...and now he prolly took my licence plate and prolly bill me a ticket ??? for reckless driving by cutting me off ???? will this happen ???? (chair)

it;s not like he pulled me over and took my informatiion, for all we know, sumone else could be driving my car so he has no proof right ???
any help on off duty cops here guys ......(gtfo)

my friend told me that he's prolly a pedestrian cop that got pissed cuz i cut him off lol..... i dunno, help ?

Eh, I'd say forget it and don't worry about it. He can't ticket you for reckless driving without specifically citing you and you signing on the dotted line. There's no written proof or visual evidence, so don't sweat it.

All you can take away from it, I guess, is be careful who you cut off and if someone wants to drive like an asshole, just let them go... You are in New Jersey, so its bound to happen more frequently than not...
 
thx man, i should have known better, i just got pissed cuz he was like 5 inch of hitting me if i didn't break, and he had the nerves to show his ******* badge....he almost cost me an accident....

hopefully he don't patrol on that highway, cuz i take it to work everyday....if he remembers my car.....he might screw me over .......
 
m'eh, just cause someone flashed a badge don't mean anything these days...plenty of angry/weird ppl out there, esp if they're driving a vw bug (laugh). i'll be pulling for you, as i'm sure will the rest of the community. keep updating this sordid tale.
 
its no big deal you were not pulled over and he has no evidence other than his word and that wont hold up in court. it was probably some dumb kid with a fake badge thinking he could act cool with it. other than that just know he must be certifiably retarded what man drives a beetle?

i woulda brake checked him almost got a new car from some dumbass mercedes suv that was so far up my ass i couldnt see his headlights on the highway going about 75...damn mercedes and their good breaks.

lol I did that in my truck! Stupid honda driver was like 3 inches away from my ass. Needless to say he ate a hitch! the driver in the other lane seen how close he was and stated that he seen a dog jump out in the middle of the road and winked! (So you know what story we went with lol) oh and all it did was scratch my bumper and hitch on my truck... needless to say the Honduh was totaled.
 
afew years ago I almost hit a cop directing traffic for a church. he was off duty just making some extra money in his uniform. all he said was to slow down. I dont think they can do much if they are off duty. I know I scared the hell out of him though. I was literally inches from him. and the really funny thing is. I was coming home from a wedding reception about a month ago the same cop caught me and another guy "speeding" and he let me off with a warning. luckily he caught up to me as I was pulling to my driveway or it may have been another story.
 
yea like everyone else said, theres no proof, but why the hell did he pick on you out of every other car... asshole cops i hate them!!!
 
I'm not sure if it's still on the books out here but there was a law passed after that old dude ran over a bunch of folks in Santa Monica a few years ago. The original law was that if you saw an old person driving badly you could report them and they would force them to take a driving test. But someone challenged it claiming it was discrimination against old folks so it now applies to EVERYONE. So if someone is really pissing you off in traffic, you report their license as reckless and they get mailed a letter from the DMV inviting them to come take a new drivers test... :)

What if you're driving someone elses car? I think you would need multiple reports before the DMV reacts.
 
Am I the only one that thinks the badge wasnt real? Most likely a security guard thinking he'll scare ya with a badge... either that or he's really from RENO....

Why? flipstyle ended up doing the same thing back to him.

If someone acts like an ass, let them. Do what you can to get away from him. Besides, as per your description, you were driving in the left lane. I HATE that. Unless you are passing another car or making an exit that's on the left, you should be in the center lane or right lane.

If someone acts like a dick and you return volley, you're no better than he/she is. Be the bigger man and let it go.
 
and BOOOO on the beetle comment. I mean, I have a REAL beetle..but still. I wouldn't have enough power to have performed the first maneuver. If I do cut someone off on the highway, it's due to a cross wind or broken steering box. (pow)
