Help! New 5 got scratched!

So bummed!

Just noticed this morning that our front bumper is scratched! Must have been side swiped while parallel parked yesterday. What is the best way to deal with this? Bring it to the service dept at dealership? Touch it up ourselves? We just go our Galaxy Gray sport model this past Saturday...ahhhh!

whats the damagae like?

is it more of a scuff? or if you run your fingernail over it, does it get stuck?

pictures would be great. certain scratches that arent to deep can be compounded, and polished out, otheres need to be wetsanded and polished, and some need to be touched up. it all depends on the damage.

Depends how deep. Light scratches can come out perfectly (usually). As long as the paint isnt frayed and you can see metal or the primer underneath it, just goto walmart buy a little bottle of rubbing compound and use a soft cloth or a buffer (lightly with a buffer and start lightly if using your elboy grease) in a circular motion until the scratch is gone. If you bare down with a buffer you can go through the clear, then through the paint and down to the plastic, so dont bare down with a buffer.

Im cheap so I use an old terrycloth towel and squirt a little bit and rub, it also gets all the scratches away from the door handles etc.
