So could some help me figure this out. I would like to install and aftermarket amp with aftermarket sub and keep the bose head unit. Can this be done? I saw something like this done with the speed 6 ...... any info wohld be great. I really want to hook up my sub and
amp.

i used the PAC OEM MAZ2 (pictured). Most websites will say that it does not work with Bose. However, based on several others who had used it successfully on their Bose system, I tried it and it has worked flawlessly.

Whats a good place to get it for good price. And thank you thats awesome. Plug it in is great.

For what it's worth, I'm using the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 Manually spliced into the pre-amp cables exiting the head unit.

Just did mine not to long ago. The PAC AOEM MAZ2 was in fact designed for Bose w/o centerpoint (PAC's website has it backwards). Just make sure you tap into the front channel if you plan to run a sub. The rear channel has an aggressive roll-off at both the high and low frequencies.

EDIT: On the 08.5-09 harness behind the HU, the remote lead will not be functional through the PAC interface (Bose applications).

I hooked up the PAC OEM MAZ2 this weekend and everything works great, i have the Bose factory system and had no problems with the install or having everything work. after market amp and sub hooked up and now enjoying some real thump.

ok, so today i ran into an issue. i noticed that as long as the volume remains below 34 everything functions perfectly. as soon as you reach 35 you get a drastic change in volume and the sound level jumps up and down wicked bad. at this point im unsure if its an issue with my stock bose head unit or if the new PAC AOEM MAZ2 adaptor is not working properly. im currently running and aftermarket 8" sub and mono amp off the rear preamp outputs and another aftermarket 4 channel amp with 4 aftermarket speakers off of the front preamp outputs, signal wire for amps running from the PAC AOEM MAZ2, so the only part of the bose system left is the head unit. any thoughts would be great.

That sounds like the classic bose head unit issue which they issued a TSB for; mine was replaced under warranty, though that was before i changed speakers and amps.
