HELP!! MS3 won't start...stupid immobilizer

...you don't know what ricer means...

Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything...like for example play a wiseass in a thread where a person asks for help...which i thought was the point of this type of forum. As for my ASSumption - if ur car was 100% OEM, you wouldn't be on here. What a douche, please don't reply.

Fractus - thanks for the suggestion but I doubt the locksmith can do anything since the key-cluster-pcm apparently work together resulting in a clusterfuck once you try to switch out things yourself. Also, I just bought the used cluster, didn't get any keys with it unfortunately.

I did find out that a used cluster can be reprogrammed or even completely erased and the mileage adjusted. "Officially" the dealer does not want to get involved in that... I'll leave that fun up to someone else to figure out tho since i found out how to bypass the immobilizer completely (kind of in the same way as you would with a remote starter). I'll give it a shot over the weekend and see what happens

in otherwords, you ricers need to leave the ******* gauge cluster alone... the gauge cluster runs all sorts of s*** in the 3, and the immobilizer system is one of them

better yet... leave everything electrical alone!

uhh...you're rice for modifying your gauge cluster?

Holy cow monkey fart, the definition of rice had changed so much in the last 5 years...

So did you get a chance to finish the led setup? I was really considering swapping my lighting on ONLY the Tach to White. I think it'd be real unique. Having the tach be a color on it's own to emphasize engine revs (plus, most OEM cars have the tach as a different color/background).

Here's a quick photoshop I did of what I was thinking:

White Tach - Red Gauges (obviously this is an 07-early 08 gauge cluster picture)

that looks interesting, especially if you have a white or silver car imo. It would clash with the rest of the instruments tho unless u change everything to white, too. I was shooting for blue on the instruments and a BMW orange/red projecting onto the silver rings of the speedo (sort of the reverse of what it is stock?). I just imagined the overall interior to be sorta neat that way and already got the dome (or "mood") lighting in the same orange/red onto the shifter area and instead of the above-ashtray weak factory blue light, as well as the rest of the instruments changed to blue...just ran out of patience on the cluster and got myself into this mess.
If you know what you're doing, give it a shot...but still take ur time and keep in mind what kind of crap u could be getting urself into
