Sky Blue is still very much around, it was introduced in 2012 and is a carry over into 2013. I believe you may be talking about Celestial Blue Mica, that really nice looking bright blue colour that was only around for 2010 and 2011.

Oops I didn't realize that Sky Blue disappeared from the US. Still available in Canada.

you dang canadians get all the good stuff like manual transmission 5's in upper level trims.

Now now, there was one car that you Americans could get in manual for one additional year compared to us Canadians.

I'm talking about that great driver's car, the boldly stylish, the captivating to drive, the one, the only, Toyota Camry. :D While 2010 was the final year for the 6 speed manual Camry in Canada, Americans could still get the Camry in the beautifully simple LE trim or the super sporty SE trim with the 6 speed manual for the 2011 model year.

BTW, I just noticed you guys can only get a base model Mazda 6 in manual...

Consolation prize, we can only get a base CX-5 in manual too.

Oh I saw you guys can now get a 3 Skyactiv Grand Touring with manual for 2013. That's a step in the right direction. :) Canada never got a Grand Touring spec Skyactiv for 2012, for 2013 there will be an optional Touring Package that gives the 3 dual zone automatic climate control, push button start, Bose sound system, and a few other things, on top of moonroof and leather, but still not quite Grand Touring yet. Our Grand Touring only comes with the 2.5.

Nice.
I find it funny that they change options so much for Canada.
I should then be able to order things however I want. Like moonroof but no Bose, or still get manual climate control.
They need to just drop the mzr engines and offer the 2.5L skyactiv that is in the new 6 as an option. 188HP and 35+ mpg.... Yes please.

Just checked out the Mazda Canada site, and you guys still only have 2012 models up for choices. Things may change for you yet. Options are strange in Canada land though. How does your skyactiv get 58mpg highway? You guys must really pussy foot around with them for testing. You guys actually have info on the 2014 Mazda 6 though.

Canada used to use imperial and not US gallons before we went metric, 58 Imperial MPG = 48 US MPG, Canada still uses the old EPA testing methods which is good to 60-65 MPH. 40 US MPG as per the current more realistic EPA testing methods is good to 70-75 MPH. Anyway, 58 MPG doesn't really mean squat to me, they hang on to these numbers for the older folk who were around before the metric system. I know the 3 as a 5.0L/100km car in Canada and a 40 MPG car in the US.

2013 specs aren't up yet but they've already rolled into dealers. So there's the GX with the old 2.0, the GS with Skyactiv, and GT with the 2.5. With the GS, there are really three packages: a Moonroof package, a Leather package which requires the Moonroof package, and then the Touring package which requires the Leather package and therefore also requires the Moonroof package. I would've loved a 2013 Touring package but 0% financing @ 84 mo was too good to pass up. For you, a GS with Moonroof Package would've had your name on it. :) Standard sound system and manual climate controls on that one.

According to the leaked Canadian specs, only the 2.5 Skyactiv engine will be put into the 2014 Mazda 6.

I figured that was what was going on with the mpg.

Now, the skyactivs come with standard dual zone climate control and push button start. At least it is still a non Bose stereo, but Bluetooth is standard. In the us US that is.

I don't even need a moonroof. My 5 has one, and I never use it. Don't like bright lights from above...gives me headaches.

I'm biased because red is my favorite color, but that said I think the VRM is a fantastic color. I like the "look-at-me" quality of a red car. Plus, there are so many black, silver, white, or gray cars out there it's nice to have something different.

I've seen a couple articles like that. I agree, I need color! But, that's just me :)

Yup, white was my third choice. Really disappointed I couldn't get a higher trim VRM, but I wanted leather, the tester pictured above only had a moonroof. I didn't check for a hatch though, but I wanted a sedan because I was tired of smelling my hockey equipment in the cabin to and from the ice rink. lol.

You guys have a third Skyactiv trim level now for 2013, the iSport, which doesn't have push button or auto climate control. You guys have the edge on Canadians when it comes to the 3 IMO, every trim level can be equipped with a manual except the iSV with Convenience Package, and you can get a fully loaded iGrand Touring. Odd though, automatic on/off headlights and automatic rain sensing wipers are standard on Canadian Skyactiv models whereas you guys need to get the iGrand Touring with the Tech Package to get those. Heated seats are also standard on Skyactiv, cloth or leather seats.

the headlights are probably because you guys require daytime running lights... or at least did.

we dont here in the US.

and it is cold there, thus the heated seats. i did noticed that you guys have a nearly 1700 destination and processing fee. sucktastic.

i dont care for leather, or i can get aftermarket for less. but it is not necessary.

I think it's warmer here in Vancouver than it is there in Michigan. :) I used to live across the river from Detroit in Windsor. All cars need auto DRLs, auto headlights is just a convenience feature. The base model 3 here doesn't have auto headlights.

The destination fee sucks. It's sucks for the Ontarians who have to pay $1700 to have their Corollas and Civics delivered even though it's built RIGHT THERE. I think it has to due with our population of just north of 33,000,000, big land mass and sparse population outside of city centres = higher destination fees.

Leather seats are definitely not necessary, but I wanted to have an "upscale" car for once.

What made you move away from Windsor?

So, I put in the order on Friday.

Going to probably take 3 months to get here. I still have 4 months left on my lease so there should be plenty of time. However, now I can't wait and it is going to be a long 3 months. I just can't wait to be rowing my own gears again. Also can't wait to teach the wife. I need to get a save the manuals decal for it too.

This was in 1989, I was six years old then. :) Apparently, I developed respiratory problems shortly after moving to Windsor, I don't remember anything about that though. I did recall the city as being really nice though until I returned in 2006 on an east coast trip. (boom01)

Sweet, VRM? Which trim? I want a Save The Manual decal as well but it seems the red fades in the sunlight way too easily, too bad. I've been thinking of coming up with my own vinyl, something like:

I <3 (H) (I, love symbol, gear shift symbol)
' ' | (clutch brake gas)

yeah, the longer ive been near detroit, the sicker i feel too.

im not going to say what i ordered, but i will say that it has nothing to do with turtles.

It is a skyactiv hatch with a manual trans though. just a touring. dont like the bose stereo, plan to upgrade anyways.

like the idea of a vinyl decal. will have to hit up barry (jackelope) about that idea. he might have something already.

I was going to suggest graphite mica (I have a '12 hatch with the six-speed manual in this color), but then I saw the gray comments... hahaha. I'd say go for the velocity red mica.

On another note, I wish I delayed my new car purchase for another year because I really would have loved a Grand Touring trim with the manual transmission. I don't mind my more basic 3, but a sunroof would at least be nice, despite the raised center of gravity and added weight.

Yeah, just not into the boring 50 shades of grey that are out there.

im happy that im ordering the lightest 3 available. 385lbs less than a speed3! should be pretty agile then.

though... i do want to upgrade to speed3 brakes eventually.

I'm willing to bet that most, if not all of that 385lbs of difference makes the difference of it being a speed

yeah, it makes it faster and stuff im sure

wondering why it is such a big difference though.
