Help, I need a new wastegate.

Can you install a new wastegate on our cars without replacing the turbo? I believe you can but Mazda told me differently. My car has sucked lately so the Service tech and me determined it was my wastegate. For s**** and giggles guess how much a new turbo is from the dealer before installation? $2246.00 and $3200.00 after labor. The service guy suggested I just buy an aftermarket turbo and install it myself. Anyways, does anyone have an extra wastegate they want to get rid of or know where I can find one. Also, how hard is the install? Thanks a lot and any help is much appreciated. Joe.

Yeah I have been throught the same thing. Sucks man. Not sure about the waste gate thing though.

Are you sure its the wastegate and not the actuator itself

Yeah sorry I should correct myself. It's just the actuator that I need. I ordered one up and hopefully I can get it on there without removing my mani/turbo and hopefully that fixes the problem.
