help, i was driving back home to carolina from florida and had to bring a buddy of mine back to jacksonville naval base in N.C. anyways i was on the road llike seventeen hours and on some backroad hicktown road, not paying attention and i got pulled over doin 97 in a 55. ive heard there are a lot of loop-holes to play w/. nc police are really strict and if i dont get out of this i will lose my liscense and the only other ticket i have is one for 9 over like six months ago. please help, i finally got a cool car and im gonna lose my liscense.

Damn, my reply didn't post yesterday. Anyway, there are several ways to get out of it. The easiest is an lawyer. You will probably have to pay a little more than the ticket, but he WILL beat it and it wont go on your record. If you want to do it your self, you will have to do some of these things. You can go to the station and ask for the calibration records for that radar in that car. If they were not current for that day, you do not have to pay. If you just go to court, you have a 50/50 chance the cop will not even show up, if he doesn't you will beat it. If he had another cop with him, he also has to be there b/c if you call the other cop as a witness and he isn't there, you've won. There are lots of thing on some website. You can search for it on yahoo. It's something like howtobeataticket.com. I'm not exactaly sure what it is.

I would say your best bet would be the lawyer route. It'll piss off the cop but that's the way it goes sometimes.
And if it does go to court, you better hope to god the cop isn't anal about court dates. I know a lot of them are.

Well, the cop claims he gunned me at 55 in a 30. So I ask for the registration # of the gun, they give it to me. Then I ask to see the gun. They didnt have it at the court. HAH!
The U.S. Constitution says you have the right to face the accuser, and in that case it was that speedometer gun, so I got dismissed.

I think that is an urban ledgend. I'm not trying to start anything though. It might work for all I know, but I've always thought that sounded like crap. I was about to try it once but thought about it for a while and realized it was probably bogus. But you are right about the book. I heard a radio interview of the guy that wrote it, he was a retired police chief. He also said he had a web site, I'm sure you could find it on yahoo.
