help! diamond ring

im trying to find a good place online to shop for a diamond wedding band, platinum.

im having a hard time because it seems 95% of the websites are junk or like list sites, or redirect to either mondera.com or bluenile.com...

fire out some websites. this is actually going to be the engagement ring. im looking to spend under 1k and it must be under 3mm in width.

this is kinda her wants. she doesnt like diamonds that stick out, so i have to find an ultra thin ring for the engagement and then later find a thicker one that cmoes close to matching for the wedding band itself.

she also doesnt want anything exravagant. from searching ive noticed once you get over 1k, two things happen: one, since the ring is actually a wedding band, it gets thicker and i cant go thicker than 3mm. two, it gets real fancy looking or too many diamonds and she doesnt want that either.

also VS1/VS2 clarity or better, but for that price and size, that is about as good as youre gonna get so far ive noticed.

Your kinda hurting if you want platnum for that price. Platnum right now is like 3 times the price of white gold. But diamonds.com is the best place i would say. I recently purchased a 1.12 carat. GIA Cert Vs1 D color diamond with a 4mm plat band and i paid. 6800 from a local dealer who marks his diamonds up 20%. It was very comprable to diamonds.com

yea no s*** she is so damn particular though. she said if i get much more expensive she will never want to wear it because she is military too and afraid shell **** something up, and she insists on platinum...very frustrating.

Oh yeah, if your looking for vs1 vs2 quality that is top of line. Your prob better with s1 s2 and a better color. Either way diamonds.com lets you search with a bunch of different variables.

uh, no. thats mid grade. and diamonds.com sucks. you have to sort through entirely too much bulls***. they have like zero rings to choose from and if you do the diamond search you cant single out platinum.

edit: n m those arent even rings. what a pita. **** that site.

mid grade yes. But you wont find a flawless or internally flawless. and vvs1 or vvs2 are almost impossible too. so s1 s2 means small inclusions that are not visible to naked eye. only under 10x microscope.

Find a local dealer. And compare your price to diamonds.com I was saying that diamonds.com is like a 20% markup. I wouldnt buy any ring over the net.

heh no problem, thats why i said wedding band, making my search difficult. keep in mind i live in friggin pacific grove too, which means super expensive EVERYTHING.

hell, military haircuts (meaning you basically only use a razor) are even 3 dollars more than everywhere else in the military.

Arent those wedding bands? I thought you said it was going to be the engagement ringn you are looking for? Also, I know around here you can find rings just like those for around 500 or so. I am getting married this summer, so we have been looking at rings like crazy trying to find which ones we like. The wedding band my finace wants is just like the ones shown and is around 500 or so.
