HELP cx7 wont start

so my fiance broke both key fobs and i put them back together so many times that they wont stay together so she has just been using the key itself to lock and unlock the car. she drove the car like this for 2-3 months, she drove it this morning then came home and threw they key fob got in the car an hour or so later and it wont start. i wasn't home so i came home tried starting it everything turns on (lights, radio, etc) but it wont turn over so im like wtf i unhooked the battery, hooked jumpers up to my truck, pulled fuses relays and checked wires, gave the alt and starter a few taps. I couldn't figure it out so i sat in the car and tried starting it again and BAM the theft light comes on and flashes for a while then goes off. so i read through the manual and i think that she messed up the key fob enough that that car wont start. the other key fob is broke too and she said its in one of her old purses (pissed)! any thoughts on my issue? is the cx7 stuck in theft mode? is there any way to get it out without getting it towed to the dealership? please help!!!!! thanks

If you have the key that flips out then it has a small transmitter in the main key body. The transmitter must work to allow you to start the engine. Check that the battery is good and replace if necessary. How does one break two key fobs as they usually last for 10 years with only a battery replacement? A new key fob and reprograming cost $$$.

this was actually common with my 2007.
Next time this happens try taking the negative lead off the battery for about 5-10 seconds and then re-securing it and then try starting...see if that helps. Mine did this a lot a Mazda refused to fix it because they said i didn't take it in for the routine maintenance mileage increments that they suggest.

Otherwise those key fobs probably need replacing man.
