Help choosing size of rims

I am planning to buy rims but I'm not sure what size I should get. My choices are either 17 or 18 but I''m scared that it will affect the ride quality. I will be changing my springs too (into Tein S-tech) and also my shocks (into Tokico illumina). So I hope it wont make the ride bumpy. And does anyone here know (for sure) what are the dimensions of the rims I should get? (you know how there's like 17 X 7.5 then 5-114.3 offset of 40) I'm quite not sure what all these mean and what I should get.

umm for 17's, you will need +48 if u want to tuck, but +45 with 205/40/17s will be good enough.

18s... not too sure, i think the same.

tein's are stiff, so ull get a bumpy ride. surprisingly, my ground control's are soft so the ride, imo, got better.

best bet: do a search or look under the rim/suspension section for all your answers.

welcome to the board

i'm not sure the rim size will effect ride quality as much as tire size, low profile and tread will have some effect too.

for starters you can look in the wheel/tire forum for LOTS of information...

but for the P5.....I would suggest since you are concerned with ride quality...stay with a 17. IF the wheel you want is a 17 X 7....then a +45 offset will make it...if the wheel you chose is a 17 X 7.5 then a +48 offset will be required to ensure you have no rubbing problems. for tires...go with a 215/40/17....its the closest thing to the stock tire diameter.
