Hello....

Its nice to see that not much has changed here. Hello ladies, how are the Mazdaspeeds doing??? As you can see I have changed my avatar to reflect my new vision, and money pit. Just thought Id drop in and see how you boys were doing.

What the hell is that? Hard to tell by the pic, looks cool though!
Supra???

Sort of, its a Lexus SC300 5 speed soon to receive a 2JZ-GTE Supra engine and trans.

Dare to be different, hell thats why I had bought my Speed to begin with.

i saw some videos online of a guy with this jdm supra engine dropped in his lex.....he killed two modded rx-7's and a viper with out breaking a sweat!

That would be Mr. Clint with the RX-7 & Viper smoking Lex.
He has 737hp to the rear wheels.

Sure I'm serious, it will be a fun project.

:D

that is just wrong dropping an engine like that in a lex, it would be total sleeper till you hear the damn bov...hehe :D

some guy with this 15th year anniversary edition pulled up next to me and i could have sworn his bov sounded like air brakes on a truck....soo louddd.....i was on the highway and i noticed his headlights coming up fast....i was like oh those are some pretty head lights so i downshifted and he made me seem like i was standing still. Not to mention the size of his turbo is as big as my head.......

izzat a reflection of the size of the rurbo or the head it's being compared to :D

turbo3wagon, good luck with the project! I had a friend with a new Lex coupe a buncha years ago, IIRC they're a little soft in the suspension department, I'd take care of that before too much HP gets you in trouble... but then again you've probably already thought of that! Great car, though, ultimate sleeper (sort of like a BMW 6-series or 8-series coupe... only probably beter built!)

What's your wish list for the project (so we can all bash it, of course, and decry your efforts by saying our MSP's can blow you away, knowing full we can't unless your Lex is still on jackstands... ;) )

2jz-gte is a Supra engine. The Soarer engine is a 1jz 2.5tt in Japan. Yep, it's an expensive project but so is a MSP if you think about it. $20,500.00 + mods. I paid 8k for the Lex and $4500.00 for the Supra front clip with labor right around 2k my sub total is approx. $14500.00 320hp stock. I already have the Supra a piston calipers brakes and TEIN coilovers sitting in the garage and that ran me $1900.00, which brings me right around $16,400.00. I still have 4k for upgrades before I get to the 20.5K that I paid for my Speed.

The Point is I spent the 20k on the speed cause I wanted somthing diffirent, I'm doing the same with the Lex. Besides my wife drives a WRX wagon, I can let her fly by me.

Yes I know the 2JZ-GTE is a Supra engine. I was telling MoJoeTCM Clint used a 2JZ from a US Supra, rather than a "jdm supra engine." -- a weaker, less powerful 2JZ than the one we have here (smaller ceramic turbos).

$2,000 for a 2JZ transplant? You're gonna need to research it a little more. :) There is a lot of more parts and custom fabrication you'll need. For the tranny alone you'll need a custom driveshaft, need to trim the tranny tunnel and shifter surrounding. You'll also need the Supra rear differential. The ECU is the worst part, either take a week to make a custom harness, or do the smart thing and get an aftermarket standalone. All the small things add up, fuel pump, fuel lines, radiator, exhaust...

Thanks, I've been in touch with an old friend in Miami who has built quite a few and has Given me all the gruesome details of the swap. Like I said I got the front clip with ECU, harness and all. I know the harness does not plug in to the SC300 dash cluster with out modification & also know about the tunnel, drive shaft & rear diff mod. None of the projects that I have taken on in the past have been easy. I built the first only 323GT turbo wagon in the US and had to completely gut two cars to build it. The point is thanks again for the insight and I am aware of what will need to be done to make it a reality.

P.S. Nice to see that your still around funnylittlman, thanks for the kind words brother!

:D
