2003 mazda protege lx
hi there I am the proud new owner of a 2003 Mazda Protege LX I've had it for about 3 months my previous car was a Mitsubishi 3000 GT vr4 which broke my wallet I really miss the car but now I have moved on to something that is a little bit more affordable. I really enjoy this car so far the gas mileage is awesome alone right now makes me love this car so far I have done the timing belt water pump fluids have all been flushed the brakes have been replaced I had to fix the driver side window regulator which is doing now I just need to find out and fix my AC before the summer comes luckily it's cold out and I can do without it but in Phoenix when it gets to a hundred ten degrees without AC it's going to be unbearable. The first thing I want to do is get tint on it.the 1 thing I do have questions aboutis how would I go about putting a mazda speed turbo kit on it I have seen full kits out there go for 1 about 1000 dollars I don't plan on making this car crazy fast more reliability but it would be cool to have a daily driver that's reliable and boosted so if anyonegood point me in the right direction on where I can find parts or how to do this that would be awesome I make very excited to put work into this car is very affordable and I am enjoying the carbut for now I'm basically saying hi

Honestly, my advice is just find an MSP. Mazda made over 1000 changes to the protege to build the MSP, lighter windshield, larger brake calipers and rotors front and rear, larger swaybars, stiffer bushings, tokico struts, racing beat springs, glass mounted antenna, stock kenwood excelon stereo (h/u, speakers and amp/sub), different interior, Limited slip diff and revised trans (03.5), factory body kit, racing hart (enkei) rims, and of course the turbo. Not to mention they are rare and limited production so you are part of a somewhat exclusive club lol. By the time you put together a turbo kit you could get a decent value for your LX and have a full on MSP without getting your hands dirty, then you can skip the trouble of locating all the parts (including the turbo ECU) and spend money on mods instead. Just something simple like a 5 lug swap on the LX will cost a fortune. Plus the MSP will be easier to sell in the future (not that you will ever want to sell it).

ok got ya, i got this car from my uncle and the total cost that i paid to own the car was 300 dollars. I had to put tires on it to get it home. i dont plan on selling it ever really. So far i have done the brakes and fixed the driver window i just know that these or the mazdaspeed that is came with a turbo so i figure i just throw on a orm kit and call it a daily driver :) ive done the car mod thing and i am not really into to it, just to expensive. Id like to add things here and ther to give it my own touch but iam more of a bike guy and now that ive got something reliable, easy and cheap to fix iam happy with my car situation. The one thing i absolutely hate though is the cup holder area its really tiny and a pita when trying to use the cup holders and charging my phone at the same time. i dont have huge plans with it but the gas mileage alone makes me love this thing
