Hello all...this is my first post here, but I'm not a newbie to the 5's. I'm on my 2nd 5 now. My first one was an 06 GT and was the first 5 spd manual into Canada back in July of 05. It was a lease so when it was up I opted to buy a new 09 GT last year instead of buying out my lease.

I've been involved in the tuning scene for many years with my other car which is a 2000 Volvo V70R wagon. It is very heavily modified and the Mazda which serves as my daily driver is modded slightly too. In fact...I started modding it right off the showroom floor! It only had 400km on it and already had H&R springs, x-drilled rotors on all 4 corners and a set of 18" Tenzo R Cuscos on it...lol. Here are some pics of my babies...

lol...thanks buds. Ya...I kind of a fan of black cars for some reason. Seeing as how much of a b!tch they are to keep clean....I'm chalking it up to stupidity...lol

Move down here to AZ if you want to break yourself of that black car habit. One summer of the AC not cooling things down as the heat radiates inward from the black sheetmetal and you baking at 110+ degrees will get you lusting after white and silver cars REAL quick!

PS, are you on Swedespeed at all? Turbobricks? V70R.com? (since I have a lowly non-R P2, I'm only on Swedespeed)

I hear ya about AZ...I've been down there to play golf quite a bit. I love it down there. Not so sure I'd like it in the heart of summer though...lol.

I'm on V70R.com and Volvospeed.com most of the time. I use the same username on both of those sites as well.

I don't blame ya...I do too. It's much faster than the 5 by a mile. I have it around 350hp right now with even more go fast goodies going into her come spring time. Right now she sits under a cover in the garage hiding from the snow.

Thanks...yep, still have the Tenzo R's. They are the summer wheels with 225/40/18 General Exclaim UHP's mounted on them. The other black wheels are the stock 06 GT five spokes in rattle can with Hankook IcePikes. The black wheels on the Volvo are Enkei GF-1's that were powder coated.

Bummer about the Venetian...that was an amazing colour. How much did they give you for it if you don't mind me asking? If you would have posted it up for sale on V70R.com or Volvospeed I might have had another winter ride in the driveway...lol. I had a 2000 Laser R as my previous daily driver/winter beater before as well. I sold that one to Justin in PA...not sure if you know him at all or not. He goes by Chilled Man on most forums. Yeah - I was bummed to see the V70R go but it was pretty trashed at 110k miles (wife's car). I did post it on Swedespeed but the "best" offer I got was from JRL for $1500! BTW - I don't miss that guy. I did sell a bunch of parts to a Swedespeed guy before it went to the crusher.

I got $4500 C4C plus another $500 match from Mazda plus another $1900 off MSRP on our 2009 Touring. From a $46k car to a $21k car was a bit of a change but I really don't miss it that much. The 5 is a great value and I have talked 2 friends into buying them (so far).

lol...JRL can certainly be quite the handful that's for sure. He doesn't come around Volvospeed at all....they boys over there would eat him alive...lol.

No he ended up parting mine...he powdercoated a set of Pegs yellow and then did a bunch of trim on the Laser in yellow as well. Something happened with the tranny about 3 or 4 months after I sold it to him so he gutted it and then sold off the parts to a bunch of people....typical crazy Justin...lol

I used to have a Volvo, a '93 940T. I loved the ride but it would tend to leave me stranded by the side of the road once or twice a year and the mileage wasn't so great. The Volvo board I used to hang out at was www.brickboard.com - a great site for repairs though I don't think too many modders were there. Heck, even in '06 there were people trying to fix their cassette decks.

No worries...here are some answers for ya.

The wheels are Tenzo R Cusco V1. 18x8's. The tires are General Exclaim UHP's in 225/40/18's...I've had them on now since I bought the car in July 09, but the wheels were off last winter and this winter. I've got 34,000km on the clock right now, so I'd have to say that the summer wheels have about 25-26,000km on them. The are a very good tire...I will be buying another set of them again when these need replacing.
As for the wheels...you can order them through any Discount Tire.
