Hello, a brief intro...

Hi everyone, I'm new to the community here, but hopefully I'll be around for a while. I've never owned a Mazda, but after driving a couple Protege ES manuals, I'm hooked.

I'm currently looking to buy an '01 or later manual ES, preferebly w/ less than 80k miles on it. I also really dig the MP3s I'm seeing, although I haven't driven one yet, and don't really know all that much about them. I imagine they drive similar to the ES, and then some. Of course, I'm sure it also has a beefed up audio system...hence the name.

If anyone has a Protege for sale, I'd love to hear from you. I've been searching the "Marketplace" threads, but haven't found anything. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Seems like everyone "just sold" there ride.

I'm in the Tampa/St. Pete (florida) area, so if you're within 100 mi. or so, that would be great. I'd still like to hear from those of you outside my area.

Welcome. Keep an eye on the "for sale" section, not the marketplace, that's more for vendors. I know there are a couple of nice Mazdaspeeds in there.

Thanks for the tip Protephile. I'll keep my eyes on the "for sale" section. Anyone ever sell Protege ES models here? I mostly just see MSPs and MP3s. It sure would be nice if they had the sunroof and cruise control like the ES.

Yep. There is ES, LX, DX models all being sold in the 'For Sale' section. Just keep an eye out for them.

That 2000 ES that 19-Kilo has is very nice though dude. He put alot of money into that Mazdaspeed lip kit and everything. Might be worth a look IMO.

If he lived closer, I'd check it out for sure. It's a sweet looking '00. I do however want the 2.0 liter....and the sun roof, which is why I'm so set on an '01 or later.
