height of tailgate/boot

i am awating delivery of a cx-5 which is due in 3 weeks, and need to build a carport ready for the new car
could somebody be able to tell me the height when the tailgate / boot is open as i need to keep height to a minimum

Although I was measuring it by myself I would say that 7 feet would be safe.

Be sure, that the hatch won't touch anything. I have a wood garage door and the first time I had opened the hatch and touched the garage door, the paint got damaged in that spot.

Just measured mine for you. 7 feet should clear it, but it is pretty close. If I was building it, I'd probably add another 3 inches to be sure.
