Looking to upgrade my intirior to the gt leather with heated seats. Has anyone installed heated seats or has any idea how to do it. The wires from the heating elements in the seat only come to the seat harness. So I would have to run the wires from there. And I would also need some kind of switches because I believe the oem ones will not work.

1. Get the heating pads.
2. Disassemble seat upholstery, if going that route, and fix the pads to the seat.
3. Plug in cables to whichever source you are going with.

Having done this on other cars, you may wish you hadn't! :)

Problem is that Mazda still uses "hog rings" to attach underneath the upholstery to the wire seat frame. These are crimped circular wire pieces that you have to bend apart, pull off and then replace - and there are (seemingly) millions of them. Be sure to have a set of hog ring pliers and new rings, before you start...

I already have the oem leather seats with the heating elements inside them and the wires that go to the main harness plug for the seats. I need help with wiring fr9m that point on...

Spoke to a mazda mechanic today he advised me not to do it until my warranty runs out. Decided to put off this project until the fall.
