any help would be greatly appreciated, first off im a new member and im SO glad i found the site..k, i've down a few upgrades to my pr5, custom intake, and vent lighting are what im worried about. 1st can the intake i did have any effect on my heat. 2nd i did interior vent lighting, which i pulled back the front panel where the radio is to install those lights.. could either of those mods have effected my heat output? the blower motor is functioning, the temp, of the car is working fine, but hot air only comes out now and then..

*any who wants tips or products let me know, i own my own store in new york, and can get ALOT of pr5 accessories. i opened up an account with a company that deals only with wholesale dealers for pr5 products..

could you clarify exactly what the problem is?
Thanks

when i turn on the heat..air comes out, but its only luke warm, every once in a while it will get hot, but u cant count on it. and i just took the car to mazda cause of a tapping noise i had behind the dash, and it turned out to be the solenoid thats stuck into the stock intake which i took out, it was hitting against something and making a tapping noise which i couldnt find, i had to pay $90 for them to find it, so i dont want to bring the heat problem to them then have them tell me that work that i did voided the warranty AGAIN and have to pay outta my pocket..

first off, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. (stash)

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! (stash)

as far as your intake effecting your heat...no...

but there is a possiblilty that when you pulled off the part around your radio you disturbed something....seeing as how the ac/heating controls are attached to it.....try removing it again and inspecting all the conntections back there....if everything is hooked up and nothing is broke....it should be working fine, if its all there and hooked up....take it to your dealer.

When you pulled the center console panel, did you disconnect the three cables *first*? If not and you just yanked on the heater controls, you may have damaged the heat adjustment cable.

If you remove the glovebox (open it, then push the sides inwards at the back and let it fall forward, then pull the left side forward and slide to the left) you will see a cable assembly directly behind the center console:

Make sure that the cable connection looks like the picture.

Damn, did you make that pic just for this post?? If so, I hope you stay on until the next time I have a question/problem with my car :D

Damn thieves! ;)

He didn't make that pic - I did. I think it was to show someone what to work on if you wanted to pull the radio trim off completely. No matter - glad it helped.

So whereabouts are ya' in NY? Are we neighbors? I'm on Long Island - western Suffolk.

No, I didn't make that pic. It's from a post on protegeclub.com.

I did however use that pic when it came time to remove my center console. :)
