i know these will fit the p5 but dont we have 2 housings one for low beam and one for the high beam? will this be problem if i do get these. i asked the seller and they dont know. i looked at others and all the sellers dont know. also, i always wanted blackened headlights and that is why i was looking at these. i have no time to blacken my own headlights. thanks in advance! (hope the link works if not search for [MAZDA PROTEGE 5 JDM BK DIAMOND HEADLIGHTS]

na, because u got both lo and hi's, im pretty sure it wont work. those are for the protege ls, ex, dx, mp3 and msp. i got those on my msp

i have a similar style headlight on my msp but i know you can do it on a p5. but you'll have to rewire your lights to the same as sedan protege headlights so that these housings will work. there are p5s out there with this done.

The single housings take a re-wiring...which if you've got no time to do the black-out yourself, I doubt you've got time for that business...Your best bet is to contact some Canadian Mazda Dealers and be prepared to pay out the ears for a pair...Last I heard around $300 for both or something...

By the time you've taken your bumper off, taken the old lights out and are ready to put new ones in...You might as well just paint the ones you've got...It really won't add that much time to the entire process.

$300 for both. Where did you find that? The cheapest I have seen for the Canadian Black headlights are $600 for both.

Just paint them yourself. It is like a 6 hour job and really easy. Don't waste your money.

and if youre sketchy about pullin your headlights apart (like me) have a body shop do it. (not free, but beats destroying $500 headlights)

prob what im gonna do. im too ADD to bake headlights lol

Guess I am not very good at math....I guess I saw $300 for one...??? Anyway, if anyone would want to send me their headlights and a $300 check, I'll paint as many as I can....

Someone backed into me amd smashed my passenger headlight. How hard is the rewire, or has anyone seen a pair this cheep for the P5. I just want to trade fer in the MS3 or MS6 and need to get it fix for as little as possible. I think these look good.

Haha me too. I will go into the P5 headlight painting Business. Just need one weekend and I can pop out like 5 sets. lol. And I will do it for $200. lol. Maybe I should have charged my friends when I did theirs. But really if anyone wants me too. And I know a good paint guy that can color match to anything you want other that flat black.

is that 200 for painting and installing it? cuz i would definitely do that! or pay an extra $50 for installation.

Drive it up to Washington and we'll get it going....or you can ship them and I'll do it for $200 plus return shipping costs..

that means i wont have any headlights. i use my car everyday for work and school. so i dunno how that'll work.

drive out to MA, take a trip and see the east coast in all it's glory....we're doing the headlight baking/painting thing on the 18th...it would be a fun trip! jeff from PA is driving out! :)

Without any wiring your lowbeams will work on the sedan headlights. The P5 has the H4 plug, with an adapter to fit our H7 bulbs. If you just need to get it up and running before you trade it in, go for it :P

Yah I would deffinately save your money. The stock headlights are way better than those ebay ones. Look for the forum section for your area and I am sure someone would help ya out in blacking out those headlights. Its really not that hard to do. You could easily do it in around 2-4 hours after work and you would be way happier in the results. Heck I would do it for ya for fifty bones if you payed for shipping and wanted to be without headlights for a week.( just use your fog lights. lol)

I had the same problem. I ordered the same headlights off of ebay (wrecked front end). I was under the assumption that it would be no problem. I found out the expensive way. Before I received them I had ordered some H7 HIDs, then after having my housings installed, I found out that they were totally different. I had to order another set to fit my new H4 housings. Lucky it was plug and play. I love them now!!! So, if not for the misorder it would have only cost me like 340 for everything. Not too bad in my opinion. I can SEE now!

Time to resurrect this thread. I just bought a Protege5 which came with the single housing aftermarket lights installed - so no highbeams. Anyone know how to rewire this to work?

you wont have high beams with those housings. They are for an H4 which had a different harness. The only way (I think) to get high beams back is to go back to stock housings and run two bulbs.
