Headlight bouncing

I noticed when I put HID in my 5 that the passenger side headlight beam bounces when I hit a bump. The bulb wasn't fastened in properly. Fixed that and it still bounces. Then I hit a deer on the passenger side and was relieved that this problem might finally go away. My new passenger headlight does the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem? And what did you do to remedy it?

I also noticed this lately after 3 yrs of owning the car. Had installed the HID a year ago. Here is what Im experiencing, http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123771281

I will check the mounting of the bulbs when I take off the headlights housing when I install the new HIDs I ordered. Funny thing is I am looking for the wire that holds the bulbs and its not available from the dealer. It comes when you order the whole assy.

Relay but it didn't work either.
Still try to find out what to cause but most likely something to doo with ballast?...

Check the OEM bulbs you replaced, you might have forgotten to use the OEM bulb adapter. I noticed that I have forgotten. I already installed on the passenger bulb. Its not moving anymore . Going to install the driver side when I do the install on the 55 watt HIDs. BTW you have to modify the adapter to fit the HID bulb as the HID bulb is slightly different than the OEM see other threads...

New HIDs

Need to change my bulbs because it intermitently shutting off. Openned and took a look, and saw that there a partial burn on the passenger side bulb. Decided to just replace with 8000 K 55 watt HIDs fromm DDM Tuning. I plan to transfer the existing HID for the fogs so I ordered 3000k H7 bulbs. Will update once I receive the parts.

I never thought of cut adpaptor to use hold bulb. I guess it's good idea.

but my problem is not bulb secure issue. Bulb is secure and tight.

I'm more interest on 470uF 25V capacitor.

The capacitor was needed because of the DRL circuit in the Canadian version of the Mazda 5. The capacitor is used with the relay harness and is placed across the coil terminals on the relay to keep the relay from switching on and off (flickering lights) caused by the DRL circuit.

So Davebert, with your setup does it actually dims when on DRL mode? If it does Im getting one.

Got the shipment from DDM tuning last Thursday and installed the HIDs 8000K for the low beams, just replaced the bulbs and the ballast (55watts) and installed the old ballast on the fogs with the 3000k. The fogs are not really that yellow but they are really bright. Had to cut off the cup that covers the bulb and shimmy the cup out of the hole. I should have baked the thing open but dont have enough time. Installation is easy except for the snag I had with the fog cups. I mounted the ballasts on opposite sides of the bumper reinforcement with mounting tape and a really long cable tie.

On Friday I installed the front cross drilled rotors and painted the calipers and just finished up the rears today, Im pretty satisfied with my work. No picures yet but I will edit and post later.

BTW I didn't have to use the cut up adapter as the new bulb comes with one.

I do not think it is possible to dim the HID lights since they require a ballast like fluorescent lights. Sounds like you got a good quality kit that came with all the parts required to do a clean conversion.

Nice looking cross drilled rotors, my only concern is how are they going to hold up with our Canadian winter, I am in Quebec and they use lots of salt on the road.

Same here in Toronto. These are zinc chromate coated that's the reason I chose these. Anyways the OEM only lasted me less than 3 yrs and the problem is warping rotors. If these last me 3 yrs I'm happy. It only cost me half the the dealer price.

I noticed today after a slight rain, the rotors does not have the usual coat of rust that I see with the OEMs
