so i did the heads on my ze, new seals, port and polish,
interprep valve springs and colt cams n/a race grind cams.
the car runs good idles pretty good. that being said i have
no wideband or afpr. i took the car to the track and it ran .4
slower than when it just had headers and exaust?
can somone please tell me how this could of happend
do i need to tune the crap out of it. i mean its running pretty
good but slow. please help i dunno what to do here.

Does it feel boggy at low rpms? Do you know how much more aggressive in terms of lift and overlap the race cams are than stock?

it feels a little diffrent in low rpm when i let the clutch out
but not much at all only a little diffrence in the rpm droping.
the motor kinda seems like its running like stock if you no what i mean
unless the rpm is under 1000 then its really lopey.

stock cams= .350 int and .345 exh
race grind= .363 int and exh

You need to tune it..I am telling you that for sure. the other thin is that there is no need to port ZE heads on a n/a car. The ports are already borderline too big for a n/a car that is not built, hell my ports will MAYBE be the same size as the stock ZE ports, but still oval in shape because that is the better shape for n/a KL heads.

The other thing is, no offense..I would never have someone touch my heads unless they REALLY know what they are doing..its sooo easy to totally mess up your heads and think you are doing something positive..

i did the port and polish myself all i really did was knife edge and
match the port to the size of the gasket its nothing serious kinda
like street p and p

what will i need to tune it a wide band and afpr?
some people are saying that the stock klze ecu
can only be tuned to a certain extent?

Ahhh...you don't have MS...

Then, an AFPR and wideband will help, but not like a Megasquirt would..

i no i wish i had an ms but honestly
ms scares the s*** out of me lol so many wires
and i dont even really no what i am buying is there
a ms complete kit you can buy for cheap
if i could get a kit for around 500 i would rather
do that then spend 300 on an afpr and wideband.

... oh ya. lol my bad.
so obviously with a ms it would be stupid fast.
but with a regular tune (wideband and afpr)
do you think i will be able to get the motor to rev
past 7500 and actually make power?

Ehhh..you will have to see if it makes power up there or not..I cannot tell you for sure. I bet it makes power to about 7000-7200 then starts falling off. Yes, you can tune some with a AFPR, but honestly, don't waste your time with a wideband unless you get something to tune with (more than an AFPR) because you are better off just putting it on a dyno, and messing with the idle/WOT fuel pressure and using the dyno wideband.

if i got the wideband and afpr i would be bringing it to a local guy
in calgary (toma) hes pretty much the honda guru honesly if anyone
can get power out of this thing its him.
so just to make sure im following correctly, when i put it on the dyno
toma will adjust the fuel pressure in the higher rpm so that it can actually
make the power its suppose too?

No, you will make a bseline pull, see how it looks, then adjust from there. There is no 'high rpm' setting persay. There is an on and off vacuum setting, which are effectively idle and wide open throttle settings. Once you go WOT the fuel pressure adjusts, but it pretty much stays the same the entire time you are wide open..so adjusting it top end really is not possible

thanks man. ive never actually tuned the car so its new to me.
so really there is no way of tuning the car without ms. i can atleast
get it to pull a bit better than it was but over all i need ms to make it run
how it should.
