hatch or no hatch..that is the question

well i have been looking at the hatch and 4door..but still dont know..i know the hatch has a few more upgrades over the 4door..but what does everyoe else think..hatch or 4door

I went with the 5door...Not only did I want the better engine and the sports package,but I just think it looks a bit more unique than most of the cars on the road. The 4door, as cool as it looks, just seemed like any other 4 door.

(no offense to anyone who got the 4door. I just prefered the 5door.)

I never liked a hatch back, they just look weird to me, althought i do like the P5's.

And just FYI the 5door and the 4door S version have the same engine, the I is 2.0l

The hatch is more practical, unless you have a truck or SUV already.


Think the 5 door has a more aggressive stance also.

yeah, my bad about the different engine thingy. i was thinking about the 4dr I vs the 5dr S. not both S. but I still ordered the 5dr. So my vote is still going that way. haha. (grin)

I really like the hatch because I need the space and it is more aggressively styled of the two body types. The sedan is also nice and is a bit more conservative looking. The hatch doesn't really cost more than the sedan since for the price difference of about $500 you get the performance package. It would have been tough to justify $500 for new wheels and tires to the wife so I am glad they included it (lol2)

Actually, the hatch and the sedan(both fully loaded with everything) comes out to be exactly the same price. The hatch comes with some stuff standard, while those are optional on the sedan. Yet, they will come out exactly the same price if you add them all.

i had a protege5 before my mazda3 s sedan, so like most p5ers, i think the hatch is strange, and a step backwards from the design of the p5...

I went for the 4-door instead of the 5 because i think it looks too long as a 5-door. It almost looks like a wagon. The front design is also different than the sedan. IMHO sedan looks more sexy (naughty)

Hatch! Hatches all the way. Always loved 'em and I'd get a hatch 3 in a heartbeat if I didn't have my 5.
