Has anyone upgrade their sound system?

I have a 2012 CX-9 with Bose Centerpoint system that I thought was a decent stereo until I drove my wife's car with the Bang & Olufsen (sp?) system...wow. So knowing average knowledge of car stereo systems I was wondering if anyone has upgraded their system. I have zero issue in something that will shake my car when playing with massive bass more want concert like sound. Is this worth attempting or will the benefit not outweigh the expense?

I'm intereseted in doing the same. I have '08 with Bose. I had a camry with the JBL system, it was a boss compared to the this one.

Hey guys, seeing how there are no replies to your questions, and the fact that I have not upgraded myself, I'll try to be helpful by suggesting you call Crutchfield audio advisors at 1.800.555.7088 for a start.
I do not work for or endorse them in any way, but I know they can give you some good ideas of what's possible at what cost.

If you want to go all out I would seriously recommend mounting an iPad mini with LTE to the screen area and leaving it there. Use a hidden power cable to keep it powered and a bluetooth audio connection to the aux port audio under the armrest. Add a new BT rear camera above the rear window. By far the best combo in my opinion.

There are a few folks here who have upgraded their sound system. The info on this forum has helped me a great deal to upgrade my radio as well. I will be swapping out the radio once a few more items I ordered are delivered. Check out the posts below for some ideas.
