Has anyone painted their stock grill?

:
03 Silver Protege5
I really wanna do mine, get at least the top black strip gone, but possibly just do the whole thing silver. Has anyone had experience doing this kinda stuff in the past?

go to www.paintscratch.com and order you a 12.5oz spray can for like 35 bucks shipped. your paint code seems to be A3E according to them unless its also called garnet or passion red.

had it done when i got a bumper crack repaired.

Well the top strip really isnt a problem, I can see that looks good form the MSP and all of you who have it done, but what about the actual mesh itself. Silver to match my car probably.

i was thinking about doing this the same...but i thought the mesh being the same color as the car would like funny...im not sure...i plan on having everything else the same color...so...does anyone think it would look weird having the mesh part the same color as the car?

Has anyone done this? I'm just scared to do it the body color because it seems like it might take away the depth from the front of the car and make the outline kind of hard to really see.

Your fears are well founded, grasshopper. Wouldn't do the mesh, as it will take away from the depth of the grille. Also, that paint of gonna chip and quickly look shoddy.

yellow? with silver? i dunno...i just don't like the color yellow all together so i really don't have an unbiased opinion...i was thinking about doing it the charcoal color that the inside of my lights are...or maybe blue...but ill probably just paint the top silver and possibly due the mesh part the gray color...

The Mazda 3s has the body color grills and I think they look sweet IMO or at least better than the grill on th 3i.

If you paint it, it will chip easily and look like crap within weeks/months. I wouldn't recommend it. Some guy did it, and that's what he told me.
