Hard shifting in heavy rain

I was driving into work today in a downpour and it seems like the shifter got much harder. It was like I was dragging the shifter through tar, smooth but very hard. This a known issue or just my car?

Perhaps just a coincidence (picked a rainy day just as easily as a sunny day)... Or something got jammed up underneath that you didn't know you drove over... Dead opposum? Oo

I would inspect the shifter assy from under the car first, and then dissasemble the inside/console. See the K4rtboy shifter thread for pix of what to look for...
