Hand brake works, but doesnt triger Brake light any more

the hand brake works as i pull it up, but the brake light doesnt show up most of the time (early this morning it comes on once and never again)

is there a sensor on the handbrake i can replace? a diagram / drawing / photo would be apprecicated.

Is the bulb burnt out? It's a simple one-wire connection that grounds and triggers the light.

idont think the bulb burnt out. Cause mine is Canadian model hand brake light icon on dash should turn off my daytime running light. But it didn't, so I think its the sensor. U are talking about a ground wire attached to the metal body of the handbrake? Ill take a look into it once I get time to.

Yes I was referring to that single wire on the handle. Do you drive around with the e-brake up one click to disable the DRLs? Does the light come on when the key is on but engine off?

yea my daytime running light is on when key is ON while engine isnt started

the brake light on dash doesnt show up anymore no matter i pull or drop the handbrake

but the handbrake works while pulled up, the car doesnt move.

i am 99.99% sure its the sensor / ground wire u are talking about. i must have see saw that wire when i was doing short shifter swap couple years ago.

hopefully i get time to take a look at it tomorrow
