Yes... 48 days later... I did my research and I came back to the same conclusion. The MS3 was the best buy for the money.

I have 1 foot tall vinyl lettering that says Mazdaspeed3 going from my front fender over my roof. I made a mistake at the graphics shop and left out the S. It says Mazdapeed3 but no one has noticed yet. Everyone in the Kia Rio Racer's club knows what my car is. I hang out with them on the weekends. Good group. They have some seriously quick NA cars in that group.

I feel your pain. Back in the day, I wanted to get two large banner decals on the sides of my car ("Mazdaspeed" on the left, "Spoolin'" on the right). Times were tough, however, and I couldn't pay the entire bill from the sign shop, so they gave me what I could afford: "pee" on the left, "poo" on the right. In restropect, I should've opted for other letters instead.

and all of these posts are reasons why i bought my Speed and not a WRX or SRT-4. It doesnt scream TURBO! we dont have a giant shopping cart handle on the back of our car or dual exhaust, nor do we have that tell tale hood scoop. the fact that it is so unknown to people makes me oh so happy!

its even funnier when MY MOM "thinks" her Caliber SRT-4 is faster than me! would i be a bad son if i end up spanking her on the street or track? lol

I've noticed that out of the 7 or so Caliber SRT-4's I've seen in the flesh, about 5 of them were driven by women. I never figured that butch looking monster for a girls car.

But she has a 3S Hatch not a speed.

Swampie`s vanity plate was supposed to be "SUPERDUDE" but it didn`t fit, so the registry took off the last letter. His woman said something about "truth in advertising"...

the Caliber SRT4 responds much better to mods than our car. they have a bigger turbo stock and beefier internals. they can make tons more power than our cars, but they are ugly. the dealer by me has them for 6k off MSRP right now.

oh i think so too, but those CSRT4's make some amazing power. Mopar stage 1 dynos at 290whp and 290 tq. its only $344. but i couldnt drive one they are a little too ugly for me. besides i like the sleeper look of the MS3.


we need more factory tuning options from Mazda like the Mopar and Chevy guys.

Yeah that car is like a kid who is so ugly their own mother doesn't love them.

I like the fact that the MS3 at first glance seems very refined and mature, but when you put the pedal down you really gotta hold on to your nuts or else.... Some people complain about the torque steer, but I think it just adds to the thrill and unruliness of the car. Plus for a stock car it has a nice menacing growl when idles, and even sweeter sound when you rev it up. Its not over the top, not super obvious, but it definitely hints at the beast within.
