H&R Springs

Hey Everyone,
Has anyone ever done the H&R springs themselves? I'm told it's pretty straight forward. Any info would be most appreciated.

Cheers,
Shawn

Never done myself, but the instructions are pretty straight forward. The installers who did mine said it was an easy job. All told it took the guys with a hoist about 2hrs to do the springs and an hour to do the alignment.

Cool thanks, I think I'll attempt them next weekend. Should be interesting.
My boyfriend is going to be installing them on my 2 later on today, I will have him post up what he thinks about the install :)

i did my girlfriends H&R springs last night (Domii3925) This car is extremely easy to work on. The rear springs will not take long at all...the fronts you will need a spring compressor to remove the springs off the strut assembly.

Its a job anyone who has confidence in using hand tools can definitely attempt. i was going to write up a DIY but theres a good one already for the eibach springs which is the exact same of doing any springs.

Here are some photos of the drop after the springs were put in last night...

You just sold me on the H&R's. Looks great... it's exactly what I'm going for as far as closing that wheel gap. Thanks for the pics.

May I add that the ride actually remains to be pretty comfortable over bumps...just slightly stiffer over bumps...handling got much better, even tho i also installed the rear torsion bar from corksport on her car at the same time so i dont know how much credit goes tords that

Thanks a lot for posting the pics? How was the install process? Pretty straight forward? Anything to watch for? I have a set of springs that I'm going to install this weekend, can't wait! Looks great!

Read your comments above, cheers :D

very straight forward and very easy to do....the Mazda2 is def the easiest spring install ive ever done. these two writeups are very good so id just read these...its the exact same way to install no matter what brand spring you get.

just make sure you drop the car before you tighten the strut mount bolts on top in the engine bay at the end of the install so the sit properly. and for the rear in the write up he did one side at a time...if you unbolt both struts at the bottom...the whole rear end will drop farther making it super simple to just grab the springs out and place the new ones in..instead of compressing them. Just make sure u put a jack under the rear bar cuz it will drop fast once u get the bolts out if u dont.

I posted DIY's on the Eibach springs earlier this year in this section....JJC has them listed above

Thanks for all the info and help guys and gals. Did the springs today with great success! Thanks for all the pics and goodness!
Cheers

I'm hearing the ride is comfortable, but stiffer. Is it BOUNCY at all? I had Koni/lowering springs on my last car and it seemed bouncy to me, although my Miata is so stiff I might have just not been used to it. How are the shocks holding up so far?
