H&R Sport Springs Complete! Bring on summer mode!

Mazdaspeed3, Mazda2 Yozora Ed., RX-8 R3
Finally done! After 4 months the first real performance upgrade (of many) is complete!

My H&R sport springs are installed and the drop looks absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait for summer to get these snows off and see how it looks.

Looks like it might be closer to a 2" drop up front and maybe 1.5 in the rear. Looks great adnd rides much better now.

Initial impressions are that it's much stiffer and I can feel the road more now. It's not quite like my rx8, but much tighter than before. There's a lot less nose lift on acceleration and less dive on braking. Cornering on the snows feels more like cornering on my summer tires. A bit less body roll but I'd like to get a front and rear sway bar upgrade to tighten the body even more. Still a comfortable ride though.

There's a bit of bounce but I'm not yet sure if it's the shocks not damping as well once lowered, or if its the seats bouncing me around too much!

I'm really happy. The car looks a ton better, really slick, and it handles much tighter too. Highly recommended upgrade. Much better than the factory Eibach kit.

Nice car/drop . Did u have the eibach installed before? Why would you say the h and r is better?

Thanks. Comparing the two still not sure which to get..

Have driven a factory lowered two with the Mazda kit (which is an Eibach sportkit). Not as much drop, and not as tight. If I had to pick again i'd do the H&R no question... After a couple days driving they're starting to settle in a bit, the ride is evening out nicely.

The H&R is a tighter ride, a bit sportier... once I corksport gets their tower strut bar into production, i'll pick up that and the rear torsion bar and that should tighten up the chassis nicely.

Hmm, I'm liking that drop on there, I ran H&R on my old Civic a couple years back and it wasn't a bad ride and I liked the way it say, wasn't slammed but it looked good.

You should definitely get pics once it's settled, I was looking at doing springs on my 2 cause I HATE how high the car sits.

I think I'll do pics again (obviously) when I come out of winter mode in a couple months. Should be plenty of time to get them nice and settled. Even after a few days, there's a bit less 'bounce' to the car.

I have discovered, unfortunately, that I can no longer make it into my underground parking garage without mashing the front. I was hoping the drop wouldn't be that extreme... Ah well... Outdoor parking and -10C mornings isn't so bad is it?

Just back it in.(spin)

I'll get more pics when i go into summer mode :-) I can't wait... march 1st the real rubber goes back on ;-)

I did try backing it in... it actually works really well.... I look like a moron pulling into my driveway, 3 point turning around, and going ass first down a 30deg slope... but it saves my front end, and keeps my car in the nice heated garage, so everyone else can b**w me...

One guy came in after me tonight:

Guy: "So did you just get bored and need a challenge?"

Sweet! I'm glad it worked out for you. I know it worked for me going UP the curb into my parents' driveway, but apparently it works in both directions.

Looks good...I have the same model and am looking to drop it down as well. Thanks for the review.

Yea, I've got the mazda silver on black 16" rims with 195/45 Toyo TR1s. Google "Yozora Mazda2" and you'll see the summer rims.

I can't wait! Booked my appt to have the summers put back on... just 3 more weeks!

Thanks! So If i see another Yozora driving around TO, I'll know its you and I should wave? ;-)
