hey guys, i have a problem. i am 17 and wanna get a car. got enuf cash for 3yr payments +downpayment for either the VW MKV GTi or MS3. personally i love them both equally but want to hear the pros and cons of them from current owners. how does it handle, hows the customer support from dealers, hows the warranty, hows the get up n go, hows the sound, how easy is it to work on and last, hows the overall quality. o and 1 last thing, how much did u pay and what did u get.

i worked for a dealer group that sold both mazdas and vw so i will toss my two cents in.
performance wise, the new GTi does not hold a candle to the mazdaspeed3. the ms3 has much more get up and go and most independent reviewers will tell you the car handles much better. look wise, i personally haven't liked VW since they moved away from the "boxy" style cars. its pretty well accepted that VW quality has dropped considerably in the last few years. if the basic 3 is any indication, the Mazdaspeed3 should be a solid car. customer support all depends on your local dealers. there are going to be good and bad eggs of both brands. you will probably get a slightly better deal on the VW than on the mazdaspeed3. best bet is to drive them both and decide which you like.
oh yeah also; 4 doors > 2 doors

You're 17? Get the GTI. I honestly don't think the MS3 is a good idea for young, inexperienced drivers. Too much power. Trust me. You'll wreck it.
Either way, you shouldn't blow that kind of cash (IMO) when you're that young. Save some of it and buy a used GTI or something. It saddens me when kids blow their wad on a car that just loses value. It's pissing good money away.
