AGR#7, your K&N filter fell over while you were driving? How did that happen?

It apparently slipped off the rubber seal. It was hanging down in the engine bay (resting actually), with the air temp sensor still in. Imagine holding a wiener (hot dog). Then squeeze it. You will notice; it will push out. Same thing happened here, I suppose.

I got home from work, and I saw it after opening the hood. This was after we fabricated that bracket to support it (the tubing) with. I had remounted the stock airbox, then when I switched back, this happened. This occurred to another member here, also. He too, removed the rubber seal. It clamps down more 'sure', I guess with just the K&N on the plastic tube.

Hey..
I was thinking whether or not to keep the rubber seal on the piping when i was installing my filter too. I tried to fit my cone filter over the seal, but it wouldn't hold securely. So i decided it would be better off not to slip it over. Good thing i didn't. As long as the clamp is securely tighten, it should be fine. It's been fine for me ever since.

Over 6000 miles, been to the track twice, 3 tickets wreckless driving and two speeding. made 3 videos, and I can't stop tinkering with it. I street race almost every night. CAN'T GET ENOUGH

Who the hell is this guy anyways?
Thats a really nice thing to promote,"reckless driving and speeding", you are an idiot and certainly DO NOT deserve a drivers license. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. GROW UP !!!

Hey bud, I have been driving for 18 years and have NEVER gotten a traffic violation, maybe you will do everyone a favor and wrap your car and yourself around a tree. Have a great day, loser.

I got my first ticket in the MSP 90 in 65, but he wrote it at 80 since I didnt lie about it, but the pig nailed me on my tint too, arrrgggg

Notice he comes here wanting our money by promising us FMICs and other bulls***, talking like he's the first person to have looked at the downpipe. Now look at how he treats his supposed future customers.

What a tool.

9 street racing deaths so far in Oregon this year by asses like him.

Not had a speeding ticket in 10 years!!! I got one when I was 16 years old and had to wait in line for it.

I guess been lucky. Have talked my way out of a good deal of them.

I love my speed too :-)

Sure am. Got tix above turn one, up pretty high. Actually only been to the 5 3 times. USGP twice, 400 once (eh, the tix were free). I spent much more time at SCCA events at IRP, Putnam Park, etc.

USGP is easily my favorite race, though. We sat on a hill in the infield between turns 10 and 11 (I think), had a great chicane to our right, and the hairpin that leads to the final sweeping turn to the straightaway to our left. LOTS of action right in front of us.
However, it took us about an hour just to walk out of the speedway from there. Totally worth it. My uncle (an ex-driver and builder) and I were close to tears when we went to the first one. It was a beautiful thing.

You going to the next USGP?

Did I mention; My cousin, Larry Haltom runs Putnam Park for Richard Diasio? I was at the 2000 USGP, and I met Mario Andretti at Putnam Park when he was there that Friday AM giving rides in a GT3 Porsche with the Infineon team. If you remember; both he and 'little' Al (Unser) were driving in the Porsche Supercup races at the 2000 USGP.

Here's a photo taken at Putnam Park that day: Jean (my wife) & Mario. She was sooooo happy to finally meet him.

Man, that is awesome.

Putnam Park is such a cool place, at least for SCCA events. Kids running around, good food (and beer), and 8 hours of good racing in all classes. A friend raced a '79 Ford Pinto with a 350 chevy stroker in it in an open class. The best thing was driving it up there. Sit at a light, look over at a mustang and rev the engine. Then burn out.....ah, childhood. The ride to Putnam was almost as much fun as being there.

yeah,,and if you go there via highway 40, you go right through Stilesville, and the Old Sawmill restaurant has the best breaded pork tenderloin sandwich!!! We cannot get those here. But; Jean makes a good one at home.

Larry (unless he has traded again) has the burgandy Vette coupe at Putnam Park. He is all about American hp - always has been. I cannot begin to imagine how many muscle cars he has owned. He is 6 years older than me. He never works the weekends though. He took an early retirement as a head meat cutter with Marsh foods, and somehow, he met Richard Diasio, and got the management position there. Derek Daly came out one day in his Ferrari F40, gave a Larry a ride, almost making him s*** his pants!! I think it is something like $2000 daily to run your car there. As you know; all of the teams test here, from all forms of racing. A friend of mine here in the Memphis area has even taught a BMW driving school there.
