KY-any difference in idle?

Idle is a bit lower, but gas milage is GREAT! I got 430 some-odd miles to my last tank (12.6 gallons). That was with the last 1/2 of the tank city driving. Right now I'm sittin on 368 miles with 1/4 of a tank left. That is way above normal for me. I usually get 380 untill the low gas light comes on. My previous best was 408, but that was with the low gas light on for a long time. Looks like these wires will pay for themselves very shortly.

are you series? mine only goes for 300 miles with full tank...

Yeah, but it has alot to do with my driving style also. I have to drive alot, (around 800miles since Wed. and I still have to take the 250mile trip back home) so I drive to get the best milage possible. Which mean driving the speed limit 98% of the time on highways. It's frustrating, but it's well worth the money I save.

That's why I'm hesitant about going F/I. If I did I'd have to buy another car as a daily driver. On average I drive AT LEAST 350 a week. So if I went F/I it would cost me so much more in the long run...

THe best I ever got after going turbo was 280 and that was all highway driving at 65 miles an hour and NO BOOST!

I am thinking of getting a mazda MX-3 for work travel now that I am moving another 20 minutes away from my office. Right now I am only 5 minutes away.

Slenser, I noticed that when I am travelling at 100 kph ,I was runing 3200rpm, now I am runing at 2900 rpm . I could be that the extra ground has effected the tach (factory) as theses are not the most accurate things .

Don't forget that 4 guage is not an easy crimp connection to make. We use a set of $180 crimpers to do it right. Not much crimps them well so make sur eyou get a good tool to do it or get ring terminals that are non crimping.

does the brand of wire matter? If i were to use a noise reducing wire similar to the Monster Cable XLNs would that give me better results than Home Depot wire? Just wondering. I am not sure if they even make Monster Wires that will be able to sit in the engine bay, sorry but I am pretty new to this.

Yes, you need car audio power wire. Be it Monster/stinger/RF/lighting audio, that doesn't matter a bit. I would only use Monster connections though. 4 guage is ruffly $2/foot. Crimp ends are $4 a pair and the crimpless ends are $15-$20 a pair.

Thanks alot. Looks like i found my first easy mod for this weekend. So I should need around (i think someone said) 14ft of speaker wire, and i dunno how many connecters...also should i use crimped or non? Thanks alot.

My bad 14 ft is crazy, don't know where i came up with that one...sorry

You need 4 guage POWER wire not speaker wire.
Crimp connections are only as good as the crimp and if you don't have the proper crimper for 4 guage then you are doing nothing with this mod. The crimpless connectors are great becuase they can be used over and over again. You need as many as you have points to ground to.

I did it yesterday...but I don't feel any difference...
It maybe my just imagination but engine sounds got louder...
