GT4 Qtr Mile Times!

You guys gotta help me!!!

So I've taken up playing Gran Turismo 4 again. A friend of mine comes over who has never played. I help him pick out a used car (01 Subaru WRX STi Wagon). We get it fully modded and equip it with super soft racing tires. He proceeds to rip on an 8.8 sec run on the vegas strip. After he leaves, I drive it and set a best time of 8.5 sec. Its got about 495 HP and I forget the torque numbers. It's faster than my 800 Hp skyline and even my Cadillac Cien. The thing just LAUNCHES with barely any wheelspin in the game. I've tried everal different cars to beat the thing. Got any suggestions? I need something preferably 4WD that can hook up quicky and what configurations Gears etc. I know its an old game but this guy is really rubbing it in. That Sti Wagon is freakishly fast!!!!

I tried that. Not even close! I don't get it. I don't know if it's the extra weight over the rear wheels but this STi wagon just RIPS down the strip!!! The best I got with my modded eveo was in the 9's. The modded skyline got like 8.6 seconds

I tried this for the first time last weekend at a buddies house. I have beaten all the races (except for the endurance) and am working on the driving missions. But anyway he had a 500hp sti and I had a 700 sti racecar White w/ black spoiler (gt4 stickers on it I think) and couldn't get close. No matter what I did but I know with his car the trick to the best time was using all of the gears like redlining 6th as you cross the finish (tranny set at like 12).

Haha...now I'm gonna have to go home and see what my fastest times are and try to beat them.

I assume you are doing this on the Las Vegas track?

yeah! But it's soooo frustating. It's like someone strapped a flux capacitor to that Sti wagon. 8.5 in the qtr mile with 500 hp! Meanwhile My GTR needed 801 Hp to get
8.6 secs

I will try some more tonight. Best time was 8.3xx with a loaded up 03 sti I believe.

I never really played gt4 but gt3 my best 1/4mile time was really low 7's, like 7.1x. And top speed was 2,7XX

what car did u drive to get the low 7

1/4 was with the f090/s, it had like almost 40k hp. The top speed was done with the 787B. I could prob get better 1/4 mile and top speed but there is really no point.

Okay last night I ran a 7.352 with the Suzuki Escudo tranny set at like 17 nitro set at shortest duration. Nothing else came close.

Yeah. I think thats the fastest car. But the thing is, I'm trying to beat that subaru using something comprable not an uber race car. Around 500 HP. The thing runs an 8.5. Thats what I need. I need some car ideas.
