i got this turbo for a good deal.im still new to the ms3 motor coming from a 350z.anyways im trying to figure out hos many psi can i run this with out damaging the internals.i know i need a hp fuel pump to keep it from running lean.i have a dashhawk on the car ,any idea what vital info i should be displaying?i searched for threads and no luck .im trying to hit 350whp.and suggestions or some guidance please.also do i need colder plugs?
list of engine mods ms3 07:
garrett 3''dp catless
hks catback
garrett fmic
cpe tip and sri
hks bov rec
trz rmm
cobb ap on the way

The Cobb AP is gonna be your best friend when upgrading your turbo. The stock internals ARE pretty resilient so long as you keep your torque OUT of the low end. Have your tune made with the torque being brought on higher in the rev range and you can make 350whp on stock internals reliably. The low end torque is what blows these engines... so avoid that, you should be solid.

Also, when using an upgraded turbo/Cobb AP, run step colder spark plugs... NGK's and Denso's are the most widely used here so far as I know. Otherwise you seem to have all you need, good luck with your build!

As far as DH parameters to monitor... you have 10 slots in which to display info ranging from 2 displays per slot to I think 7 displayed per slot. You can monitor just about everything you need... the ones I monitor most are my vac/boost, AFRs, fuel pressure and boost air temps... always good to keep your STFT's and LTFT's on one display, I have another set with boost and RPM, one set for gas mileage current and average, one set with a lot of the absolute load readings, etc. its all personal preference, with a DashHawk and the Mazda specific PID's, our ECU's can communicate a hell of a lot to the DH. Not to mention our upper o2 sensor is a wideband from the factory, we get true AFR's off the bat.

Hope this helps, and if anyone can chime in if I'm wrong or misguided on anything, greatly appreciated!

i thank you for the info.so your saying 350whp is not pushing the internals if the torque is moved to higher rpms.from what i read this turbo can do alot.do you have bov vented or rec.i would like to have my bov vented to the atmosphere onced tuned but will this be a mission if so its going to be rec.anyways i didnt know our motors give out when the torque is on the low end.im sure internals will work the manage but i also heard installation on those hurt the pockets.

Well, internals are never a bad idea going with an upgraded turbo, BUT in your case if 350whp is your goal you should be just fine, safely and reliably speaking, on stock internals. Like I said, keep torque out of the low end and you should be fine. As far as the BOV goes, tuning it to run VTA is all you need to do. Get a standback or accessport for tuning purposes, and you should be golden.

cool man thanks,i see oyu live in fl.you know any experts on tuning the ms3.as long as there someone good in the state of fl im willing to drive.

DUDE, you're in Hollywood, FL lol you're right in the middle of the best places to be for tunes. I got my tune at Japtrix in West Palm, and am going back for my re-tune sometime in the next few weeks. The tuner for Mazdas there is Johnny and he's done a good number of Speeds, he's the best bet I know of down there. There's also Jack at Horsepower Logic but I've heard he's been having a falling out with the community lately.

If you want we can get together when I get my re-tune done so you can check out Japtrix and talk to Johnny about your options with the upgraded turbo setup and all that, and he can tell you what supporting mods and whatever else you'll need for him to do it. I'm about an hour and change north of WPB in Vero Beach, FL, so it's not a bad drive for me down there.

that sounds like a plan.let me know exactly, ill def drive up there to check it out.let me know in a week in advance and we can meet up.
