grrr s-o-a-b!!! turbo install is owning this rookie.

Thanks for the congrats and encouragement ;)

hopefully a tranny cooler and some good synthetic fluid will help keep the tranny's life a little longer. but wow.. the thing is hot like a mofo underhood now. good thing i have venting. heh.

of course now i'm paranoid though. everylittle sound or checking to see oil levels or temp... what's a normal temp? is the temp higher now? i'm about 1 line below middle on the gauge cluster.

after that fitting snapped i was real carefull with that stuff..

viral> yah a westside meet would be cool i think!! this august our local protege club is putting on mazda madness... hopefully we get lots of local pro's out as well as other mazda's. there are quite a few really nicely done up protege's around vancouver.....(as i'm sure there are in other places.....lol)

hMMM i hope juan see this....

I have the nonadjustable wastegate actuator on.. and it's pulling to about 9 psi...

which is not super desireable for my poor tranny... lol..... i have teh adjustable actuator.. do i need to just bolt that on and adjust it to be less boost? how do i adjust it to be less? shorter rod length or longer?

It's running awesome, Juan! I'm getting used to new sounds.... turbo spooling (i think) etc...... Thanks for asking, I appreciate you following up as well as fielding all my Questions so late at night!!!

(Btw, do you think that piece will make it up here in time for next sunday? - the friend i borrowed it off of is installing his hiboost kit on sunday is why i ask)

I haven't noticed any oil leaks. Car stays warm for a while afterwards. and omg, it's alot quicker now!!!

I did notice that the boost gauge sort of flutters as it's moving from 2-9psi but i'm not sure if that's the gauge... i moved the bov to be t'd off a diff line than the boost gauge.

I definately have to turn down the boost for awhile.. need to allow the tranny to last a bit longer lol!!! this kit has the potential to turn that tranny into mush..... i just wish that one of the only options isn't only lentech - who, so far, hasn't shown all that much interest in being good to the protege community.

But thanks again for checking in on me :) (it's a bit daunting being a noob at this)

Great to hear. When i was boosting my BP-05, i snapped the head off of the oil supply banjo bolt in the block. Then broke an extractor off in that. You know, my bost guage flutters only in vaccume, but not all the time. In boost mine stays steady, but sometimes it wont stay still on vac. Any ideas anyone?
