Jason...

Are you for real or are you just kiddin?
Heh, for real. Jim Hiester is my dad. He even mentioned it to me when you bought the car since I'm into video games and stuff. That was before I decided to get a Mazdaspeed Protege and before I found this board. Small world, eh?

Only half kidding about trading it in though.:)

No s*** Jason!

That is too weird! Such a small world....I saw your name Jason H...I got your dad's business card in my business card thingie, and I pulled it out and saw his last name started with H too. Thats too funny.

Hehehe, well this board helped with me with the information on picking this car out...and then the internet was how I found out your dads dealership had the car I wanted....He called me the next morning, bada bing bada boom, my noon that day I was driving home with my car.

Tell him you talked to me and I love it more and more each day, and that even if I could, I don't know if I could part with it, EVEN for the Mazdaspeed Protege. I love my mini-wagon way too much!

Later On,

Craig

P.S. Since you like video games, whats up, do you have a PS2 or what?

Do you live with your dad and see him, or no?

I'll let him know you're happy with it. I have my own house in Newark, he lives in New Castle near Nucar. I talk to him all the time and see him a couple times a week, I work up near him.

As far as video games go, I only got into consoles with the Dreamcast. I was a hardcore PC gamer before that, and even though I had a Playstation and N64 (which I picked up from friends who just wanted to get rid of 'em) I really didn't play 'em much. To make along story short, I still haven't bought a PS2, but I have a (gasp!) Xbox. Actually, the Xbox pushed me over the edge to get an HDTV (which it now shares with the DC.)

Maybe I'll have a PS2 by the time you want a ride in my MSP, so you can give me some demos:D.

ooooooooooh, i got an idea here Mr. Playstation rep, this one has been a long time brewing :)
for the next gran turismo or a tweaked version of gran turismo3 i bet the world would DIE to see this:

you use the hard drive and network capabilities of the ps2, and allow ppl to download new cars and bolt ons/wheels/body kits etc..... it sounds complicated, but when you get down to doing it, body kits and rims and even new cars can be very similar to new skins and models in quake or other FPS.......and as for performance upgrades and the different attributed of each new car or what a turbo does to a new car for example, you make some big algorithms (have the software engineer gurus do this) so that a car can come in with some numbers, maybe like 32 bit numbers or something, one for sound, one for speed, one for handling etc.....and when you download these new cars with 10101011101010100110101 it processes all of that and boom, your car sounds different than any other in the game and more like the real thing.....then for acceleration 10010101011101101001, that goes through the acceleration algorithm and the car you just donwloaded accelerated uniquely from any other car in the game, then 10101011110100101011 and that determines how the car will respond to various mods...

WHADDYA THINK!! :) !!!
me and my friends who just graduated (we were IT majors) used to sit around playing tons of GT3 and talkin about if only they could do something like this. Sell new cars, or just release them for free download on the ps2 site.

ahhh......its nice to dream.....

Hello Mr. IT Man...

Yeah, that technical stuff was wwaaaaay over my head.

But you know what? There's hope. Not in the forms of Grand Turismo (not yet anyway), but theres this game called Auto Modellista.

You might not like it, cause its a cartoony, cel-shaded (a-la speed racer-ish) online racing game. But if you can look past that aspect of the game, you might like it.

It will be an online racer (need the network adapter). It will have a bunch of phat cars. The car I had when I tried it out at E3 was an older RX-7. You take your car, hook it up with the body kits, exhausts, graphics, and all that other stuff. I doubt that its not as technical as having your car sound unique, but it was still one of the most popular games in the sony booth. Hopefully they will have some kinda downloadable content that we can throw on the memory card....Harddrive...ah, we might not see that...not official, but dont hold your breath.

Now if Auto Modellista don't keep getting pushed back again, we should be good to go by like March.
