GROUP BUY: AWR Headers

Not anymore lol. Just destroyed a tire like an hour ago.

And this style GB (with no confirmation, price break, timeline, etc.) is not for me

I think this is more a "this is the last time this will ever be available" type group buy. Like they will build as the order is placed for a certain amount of time and then never again.

Yeah a price break would be nice seeing that it's $500+ and plus shipping costs. I'm on the fence about this one just cause it's so expensive.

Yeah if the GB were a bit more organized and informative, I would be in. For the price, it's worth it. I really loved mine when I had it.

The one issue is the fitment with the AWR oil pan, if it were confirmed to not hit (mine pretty much did with the stock oil pan), then I think that would help with the decision a lot.

can awr tell me what do i get for the xtra 350+ over a obx or similar brand header? some specs please.

Have you called them yet? I mean this IS AWR whom make both products, I'd think they could answer the question.

The AWR does not break like the OBX. Plus this header was run on the challenge race cars. Nice torque through out the power band. I would suggest that who every buys one have the engine mounts upgraded.

A list of members should be set up. So easy tracking can take place of who paid or deposits made.

Tony is waiting for you calls, I talked to him today. Don't be scared,he wont bite you call him!

I'm a little confused? Normally when a member is seeking a GB to be made official the person running it is granted AMM status with the title under their avatar. To me, this is what signifies that Antoine has indeed received the proper info and put his stamp of approval on it.....not the member posting that 'Antoine approves'.

I also find it weird that now the OP is stopping all communications in this thread and you need to contact AWR personally?

Not trying to be a dick Brian....just pointing out things that seem off to me. Perhaps these are the arrangements made for this particular GB?

On occasion Antoine will grant a one-time group buy without AMM status, especially if the member isn't handling any of the money. I saw the PM Antoine sent; it's legit.

Thanks Nate....that explains it all then.

GL with the GB then to all who are getting involved.....wish I had the spare cash laying around to buy one myself.

+1 to that. Either offer us some good feedback since you started the thread, or someone from AWR should jump on here and give us the feedback. Just not good customer service.

call AWR @ 760-598-9782. Thanks. Brian

Think of this as more that he got permission to "advertise" that AWR is making a final run of their header for the Pro. Since this will be the last time, I'd say its worthy of advertisement. If you want one order one, plain and simple.

Now here is someone who knows whats going on in isn't afraid to tell us about it. What about "call AWR" is so difficult to understand, they said they aren't going to buy one anyways? Thanks MakeMeGoFast for clearing this up for us. Whether or not it's understood will be interesting to see. Anyways for those who are interested, my header is being shipped tomorrow and I can't wait to see it, so if you're "legit" about buying one you should do it.

AWR told me 11hp on their dyno.

=MakeMeGoFast;5406810]Cause you dynoed them right?

Next your gonna tell me that NA shouldn't run the 626 manifold because the loss of bottom-end power is so huge it makes the car un-drivable as a daily.(jerkit)[/QUOTE]

I called Tony at AWR today. Very nice guy. He said he needed at least 10 people to make a deposit of around $200 each. br289165 got the last header with the last available parts. Honestly, he has no reason to organize the GB since he already has his. So, Tony said in order for anyone else to get one, they needed at least 10 people interested before they could order the parts. The tubing has to be fabricated, etc. I don't have the money currently, so I am not going to be able to go in on the group buy. If someone wants to take this and make it happen, Tony said it would be best for someone to start a GB on the forum. I say it would be impossible to track who and how many want to go in on the GB over the phone.

Tony (AWR)specifically told me to have people call him because he can't put the blog on his site with the info so people could leave their deposits. He wanted me to relay that, with no mention of a formal GB organization by me. Furthermore after reading OEM plus's insightful recommendation, I would like to nominate Circuit as the new administrator of this GB, as his absolute knowledge and interest in regards to GB's would definitely make him the perfect candidate for the position and to his satisfaction it could be structured. Thanks for everyones help and input!

Thanks for the nomination, but I must decline. Neither my knowledge nor interest is "absolute."

Good luck with your GB
