Just got a new single din deck for my protege. Is it better to ground the headunit to the chassis or to the ground lead on the factory harness?

Edit: Never mind found the info in the sticky. duh..

It's best to ground it directly to the chassis. The ground lead on the factory harness is very weak and often causes noise issues.

I have pretty rough reception with my new hu, glad you brought this up. I bet I'm pulling all kinds of harmonics with the harness ground, not to mention the tons of other wires running down/around/behind it

Per the stickie thread, I grounded it to the chassis. There is a vertical metal bar right behind the head unit that had a hole already there. I used a 8mm bolt/nut that I had laying around. The new deck sounds great, with no extra background electrical noise.
