Greetings

Hello,
Just yesterday I put a deposit on a new Mazda3 Hatch with ABS and Side Airbags. I chose Black Mica since I think it's a pretty hot colour. Hopefully I will be picking it up on Wednesday or Thursday once the cheque clears. I don't really think I will be modding it that much because I can't really afford it and don't have much desire to. I'll definitely be doing some mod for an Aux input on it so I can use my iRiver, but that's it. Well, I also like those red floor mats I saw on the Mazda site.

I'm curious about one thing. I'm pulling my Infinity Kappa component speakers out of my Jeep before I trade it in. I think they're the 5" ones. Will those fit in the MZ3 and if they do is it worth putting them in there? I haven't heard much about the quality of the sound system they have. I'm sure it's pretty nice though.

Later,
Mike

welcome.. and congratulations on the new car.

Youll want to check this out for audio info( wire chart etc..) http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/495957

if you are used to an af stereo set up the 3 stocker blows.... imo anyways... you can fit anything almost into the stock 5x7 holes except 6x9 of course you can use any round option 5.25-6.5 or another 5x7 or 6x8.... lots of people (me included) have put new systems in with keeping the stock head unit... or you can change that if you want with some looses obviously...

congrats on the purchase and black micah is a great color (mine as well!!!)

I realised that my Infinity Kappa cs's were actually 6.5". Anyways, do you think the head unit will supply a sufficient ammount of powewr for them? I really want to keep modifications to a minimal for now in the MZ3. And I definitely don't want to do any drilling. I'm curious if putting these speakers in and peeling that door panel thing off (as mentioned in the link in the previous post) will have any effect on the warranty.

Thanks again,
Mike

the hu prob won't be worth the trouble of powering them, a small 4 channel amp will deffinatly help your cause, no need to drill though.... and the only thing rippin into your doors will void are rattles and prob window related problems to that specific door..

I drove 5 hours in the MZ3 yesterday to school. I have to admit the speakers aren't terrible, but they're not spectacular either. They don't seem to articulate the instruments at all. It could be that the CDs I burned are crappy though.
