I am not a fan of GReddy by any means, but personally I think the Type S is one of the best sounding BOV's out there. That's odd you were able to still find one in stock somewhere.
To answer your question though, I have not seen any info stating what the actual differences are.

The top part of the housing is different now also. I think that's just a visual difference.
That outer ring that's on the RS has holes in it. The theory behind that is to draw in outside air to increase the sound output.

They do make great products however.
oh they definately suck. My blow off valve shot the screw out cause it stripped itself without me doing anything to it. I had to tap a new hole and use a bolt. They wouldn't warranty it or anything, and i'd only had it for a month. So now i have a bolt instead of the piece that came with it.

I love my RS...now that i have it routed throught the brake booster line...I get a screaming "tttrrrkkkpppsssshhhhhhh...." everytime I shift or let of the gas....

Patience young Jedi. I had a long day and will try to get to it. Some things came up and my assistant (aka "wife") isn't here to help film right now. If I do it alone then i have to do it at a stand still (driving+shifting+filming = crashing). Under no load is not a good show of the sound--too quiet and hardly noticeable. I'd like to be driving while someone else films to give you an accurate idea of the sound. It kicks thorough ass though.
I'll try to have something for you by tomorrow. Sorry for not having it yet.
p.s. mine stripped immediately upon installation, so I had to re-tap it as well. After that, all was well though. Poor quality tapping from the factory imho.
