Grand AM / ALMS Merger

They still can be raced but who is going to? Not Sahlen, not Speedsource. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Dempsey had any plans of continuing to campaign it either.

If Sahlens is selling the 49 for 125k, someone might want to have fun with one for a season! Whaddya say guys? Phen? Ray? Team Seppuku Racing?

I'll be in a rented RV :)

... probably gettin' it sideways.

I know SpeedSource will not be and Dempsey may or may not run them, they will possible support whom ever buys the cars. We'll know more by years end.

I would love to see them return under different colors. I love the idea of a couple of guys buying a race car and forming a rogue RX8 team :)

BTW, $125k seems like a bargain... I could be wrong but I don't think you'd be picking up a 2-3 year old GT3 Cup car for that.

I agree.. That figure seemed a little low to me.

Then again, what's the market for a rolex series GT car? Especially one on a discontinued platform.

That's a pretty awesome package deal there.

if they remove the lime rock race, I cannot and will not support the series.

i'm so used to using fb, i'm looking for the "LIKE" box ... it DEFINATELY won't be the same without a visit to LRP, but I certainly do understand it due to the small venue for all those cars .......... oh what will we do without a visit to our NEMOC friends??? : (

it's all about money though.. if Lime Rock is profitable, they won't get rid of it. it's really their only track in the Northeast.

Like Amaff said, Barber, LRP, New Jersey, Belle Isle...St. Pete and Baltimore should be gone.......hopefully, Long beach should be on the schedule and I hope the Super Weeken at the Brickyard is a no go as well, the road course INHO isn't suited to the multi class racing and not to be an elitist or the like, but NASCAR weekends are boring to me.....

that would suck if they got rid of both LRP and NJMP. I wasn't too impressed with NJMP, but LRP is my home track and I love it.

the closest track to me would become watkins glen, which ain't close.

Ok, here's my thing about "too many cars on track at LRP."

Continental Tire Challenge started 57 cars.

I agree that Indy should be gone. I really dislike the road course there, but I will give it another chance due to the weather situation this year.

It's not that it can't be done, it's that the racing isn't any good.

Edit: If this series needs someplace in the northeast there is a brand new street circuit that is going to have all fresh pavement and new pit facilities in NJ for F1. That is where they should go...
