That's a pretty cool body kit, but I gotta call (rice) on those headlights.
Say what? When did HID headlights become rice? Funny to think of all those "ricey" Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, and hell almost any car that costs over $40K. For that matter, guess I'm a ricer now too. Yippee!

Nice kit. I don't know why they call that xenon rice but I need to see more at night so I'll install them anyway.

look good, wen they burn out go for HID's.
I really like the body kit too. Where did u get it from?
From the looks of it he has HIDs. A lot of people refer to HIDs as Xenons.

Maybe I'm wrong, but arent xenon bulbs the ones they sell at autozone for $5? I tried those and they just make everything look blue, but dont really help visibility. If I'm wrong about that, then I retract my previous comment. By the way, don't $40k + BMW's, Mercades, etc have HID lights? I'm might be totally off, so let me know.

However, I now understand what you are talking about. From what I can tell from his pic those are HIDs. In fact from the looks of it a similar kit to mine (see my sig) which 10,000K McCullogh HIDs.

What you are talking about I agree is sort of ricey. Not because I have a problem with people trying to find a cheap alternative to HIDs, but because, like you said the Halogen bulbs marketed as "Xenon" have crappy light output.

One thing most people don't understand is that Xenon is not what makes HIDs appear the way they do. In a true HID setup the gas that is actually "ignited" is usually Mercury vapor. However, the Mercury vapor flood lights (like street lights) that HIDs were modeled after take a long time to get to proper operating temperature. Engineers used Xenon (an inert gas) and ignitor modules to make HIDs practical for use on cars.

Since automotive applications are the only type of HID that use Xenon and because of the fact that, let's face it, Xenon is a cool sounding word, it has become a buzz word associated with automotive HID headlights. In fact that's what Mazda calls its HIDs on the 3.

The truly ghey thing is that many companies have convinced consumers that adding Xenon to the mix in Halogen bulbs will give them the appearance of HIDs. When in fact it's just a blue coating that actually reduces their light output.
